How would a 5750 oc'd perform compared to 4870?  I could not find any benchmarks regarding this question and even if I did I understand some testing methodoligy is suspect for some of you guys and I wanted your opinion.  I wanna spend 150ish now and cf with another card down the road if I need to on this pc.

The games I play are the COD series however I'd like it to be able to Crysis at 1600x1200 with low settings in the future.

This is for my DS rig once I get the mobo back.

4870 does not support dx11 and the 5870 is much more powerful.

It was a 5750 oc'd vs 4870.  Basically I am comparing those because of the $150 cost.

oh sorry, they are almost similar in perfomance but the 5750 supports dx11 and the 4870 don't so the 5750 will do better in dx11 games.

From what I've seen the 5750 is getting crushed in most games when you turn on DX11.  DX11 is very graphically demanding and games seem pretty unplayable on a 5750 with it on.

@ Herniter.  I have seen the same thing.  It's hard to know how to go on that.  I think I'd still go 5750 in hopes of drivers making the card a lot better.

as long as you are talking about the 1Gb model.
It really comes down to 3 things. 1. what size monitor..2 how far you can overclock it. 3. how high the settings are in game.

the 1Gb 5750 is a downclocked 5770, so if you look at the charts, you can see what difference it will make overclocking it to 5770 levels, and double that gain, to achieve max overclocks... so if the monitor is 21" or smaller, you overclock the crap out of it, and don't max out the settings, it will play any game you want.. but hook it up to a 24" screen, with max settings, and it will not do very well.
