I'm sure some of you have stumbled onto this info already, but I didn't see it on these forums.

I'm curious if this is actually confirmed, because the article seems to suggest it is. The HD 6850 and 6870 will be replacing the 5750 and 5770, while the current high end ATI GPU's will be bumped up to 69xx. Seems weird to make the 68xx the mid range line and the reason they gave is weak at best. I've been seeing leaked benchmarks putting the 6870 passed the 480, so if this name change is real I'm guessing it's something that just happened. I'd like to know what other people know or think about this as I am a bit confused.

o.O wha? that's...odd. I thought the Y9XX designation was reserved for double chip cards...
