If this is in the wrong topic Im sorry.
With two ATI Radeon 6990s will I have to go with Quad sub zero cooling or Dual subzero.
The reason im asking this is because their both dual gpu and i dont really know anything about cooling for computers.
Thank You for the help Big%20Smile
Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question as well.

No worries.

With two 6990's you will need to order our Quad version, as the water blocks for Dual GPUs are more expensive, which is why that package is slightly more thant he Dual version.

No question is dumb. Feel free to ask anything else.

RadioactiveRabbit we don't recommend dual gpu cards here liek the 590/6990,

they get beat by sli 570/580/6970, they run hotter then 2 cards in sli, they have less performance then 2 cards in sli, they can't be oced as much, and then tend to fail much sooner, also remmeber that tri sli/cf 570/580/6970 will beat quad sli/cf 590/6990.

also you dont' want to go quad sli/cf on the p67 mobo they can't truly support it as they don't have enough lanes.

also your res is the most important thing, at 1900 x 1200 you won't be able to tell the difference between sli/cf 570/6970 and tri sli/cf 570/580/6970 and quad sli/cf 590/6990.

From our experience, we recommend going with a Dual GTX 580 configuration.

Actually which you should go with all depends on your res, what res are you gaming at? if you are at 1900 x 1200/1050, you won't be able to tell the difference between sli 570/580 and cf 6970, sine sli 570 cost less, we recommend the sli 570.

If your res is higher then 1900 x 1200 then let us know that changes the game.

if your res is lower then 1900 x 1200 sli 570 is a waste and more power then you will need/notice.

sli 580 is great when its difference can be noticed, otherwise its money down the drain.

Ok future proof is not real, how future proof are quad sli 295 right now? not much at all, they can't do dx11 and get beat by sli 570.

to truly future proof you need to go with what you need now and then in the future upgrade to future cards so that you can meet future requierments, today's gpus can't meet tomorrow's requierments if you will.

For that res, for low aa settings we recommend sli 570 will ability to add a third, just in case you need it down the road.

for high aa settings we recommend cf 6970 with ability to add a third if needed.

tri cf 6970 beats cf 6990,

tri sli 570/580 beat sli 590.

there is no reason in the world to go with 6990 or 590.

so my advise is to go with cf 6970 or sli 570 depending on your aa settings, and in a couple of years upgrade gpus of needed.

Anymore than 2 video you really start seeing diminishing returns as far as how well games scale in SLI. What to buy sli 570's vs sli 580's 3gb is a huge price difference. The 570's will def be a bigger bang for the buck. If you want to talk longevity with the option of getting a bigger panel the sli 580 3gb would be nice.

IF you gonna keep aa settings low go with sli 570, if you want high aa settings go with 6970 cf, its cheaper then sli 580 and has 2GB of ram, which is plenty.

Because at at 1900 x 1200 you won't notice the difference between sli 570 and 580.

between cf 6970 and sli 580 at 2560 x 1600 you won't notice much a difference either.

so to go 580s would be mainly for preference and not performance depending on your res.

You better wait for the highend platform of SB so you can do tri sli/cf, or at least have the option to.

You can't go tri/quad sli on the p67 platform, for that you have to wait for the highend platform (x79) to come put Q4 of this year.

So there is no get one now and add two later, you can only add one more later on this platform.

for that res on 3 monitors, I would either go sli 580 3GB with option to add a third later (which you can't do with the current p67 platform), or go cf 6970 with the option to add a third later (which you can't do with the current p67 platform).
