Topic: Aventum 3 Unboxing/Review Posted: 15 Oct 2016 at 1:53pm |
So, due to a breakdown in communication I started off my morning picking up my system from UPS Freight.
Here we go with the unboxing... Here are some images of the system set up. Finally a second video showing the system set up and running. I will try and sit down soon and write out a nice review, but I am coming up on finals for two of my classes and I am Very busy atm. This machine is beauty and the beast all in one. Chassis Model: Aventum 3 Exterior Finish: Black Metallic Matte Finish Processor: Intel Core i7 6850K 3.6GHz (6-Core) (Unlocked CPU) Motherboard: ASUS X99 RAMPAGE V EDITION 10 (Intel X99 Chipset) (Up to 4x PCI-E Devices) (RGB Lighting) System Memory: 32GB DDR4 2800MHz Corsair Dominator Platinum DHX (Extreme-Performance) Power Supply: 1000W Corsair HX1000i (Digitally Controlled Power) Optical Drive: DVD-R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 8x / CD-Writer 8x) (Internal) Storage Set 1: 1x SSD M.2 (512GB Samsung 950 PRO) (NVM Express) (Extreme Performance) Storage Set 2: 1x Storage (3TB Seagate) Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Graphics Card(s): 2x SLI Dual (GeForce GTX 1080 8GB (NVIDIA Founders Edition) (VR Ready) Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio Extreme Cooling: H20: HydroLux PRO: Exotic Custom Cooling System (2x Graphics Cards + CPU) HydroLux Tubing Style: Flexible Tubing (Requires HydroLux Liquid Cooling System) HydroLux Fluid Color: Blue Fluid (Requires HydroLux Liquid Cooling System) Cable Management: Exotic Cable Management - Blue - (Cable Combs with Custom Color Sleeved Extension Cables) Chassis Fans: Corsair LED Airflow Performance Edition (Blue) (Up to 6 Fans) Internal Lighting: Digital Storm RGB LED Lighting System (Requires Thermal Management Control Board & Software) Airflow Control: Digital Storm Thermal Management Control Board & Software CPU Boost: Stage 1: Overclock CPU - Up to 4.4GHz (Depends on Cooling and Motherboard) Graphics Boost: Yes, Overclock the video card(s) as much as possible with complete stability OS Boost: Yes, Disable and tweak all of the non-crucial services on the operating system Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Home (64-Bit Edition) Recovery Tools: Windows Recovery Toolkit (Bundled with Windows CD) Display: - ASUS ROG Swift Curved PG348Q Gaming Monitor - 34" 21:9 Ultra-wide QHD (3440x1440), overclockable 100Hz , G-SYNC™Surge Shield: - APC Back-Ups Pro 1500 Headset: - Razer Tiamat 7.1 Keyboard: - Razer Deathstalker Ultimate Mouse: - Razer Ouroboros Gaming Pad: Razer Orbweaver Chroma So, I have had the PC long enough to rock it a bit. I have to say, first, foremost, and most surprising it is VERY quiet. A dozen fans all running on the digital storm control center "extreme mode" and it is, to me at least, a whisper. If you put them on "quiet mode" they are completely silent. Secondly, I generally have 3-5 webpages, steam w/chat, battle net/ with chat, discord, and at least one game open at all times and this thing does not even stutter nor has it even gotten a tiny bit warm. Third, oh yea, it boots in under 15 seconds. Fourth, that hard drive writes at speeds so fast I cannot even explain it. I have transferred and downloaded huge amounts of information already and it is incredibly quick. Fifth, I am on wifi and I run around 380mbps down and 38mbps up with the built in wifi on the mother board with the external antennae hooked up. I downloaded League of Legends, World of Warcraft, Path of Exile, Starcraft, Heroes of the Storm, and Hearthstone all at the same time in under an hour. Sixth, this monitor is GORGEOUS!!! The twin 1080's beast out on my monitors so flawlessly no matter what I am doing. Seventh, I have still not gotten used to how absolutely beautiful this machine is. The lighting, design, and absolutely incredible amount of attention to detail and time spent to make this beast look the way it does is above and beyond. Edited by Democules - 25 Oct 2016 at 4:43pm |

I love it, sturdy, looks kinda sexy hehe, has good cable management...with the asus 34 ultra wide there is not room for a secondary monitor, my side monitor is on a bookshelf next too the desk, but it would hold two off center side by side monitors. You always have the option of mounting them on the wall behind the desk too I suppose...I dunno, but yea, I really like this desk. The platform for you forearms that is sloped at the front is SUPER nice. I did not think it would make such a big difference but it does.

Damn, that's beautiful! I hope Alex is working on mine, next..
That's bloody awesome, too... wow... but the one thing that really sticks out to me is that the machine is as tall as your desk!! (That's a good looking desk, too.) |

Side note... About the monitors. I didn't have enough room side by side for mine either. So I went vertical with this stand.
Just a thought if you ever want to try it out. |

Very nice Where did they install the QDCs? On mine they are on the fittings coming out of the cpu and gpu blocks.
Mine is the Av II, it doesn't have the cooling manifold. Edited by hoserator - 16 Oct 2016 at 3:43am |

the QDC's are located at the case wall divider pass-thru's between the mobo and the reservoir, with a short length of tubing going to the cpu and gpus.

Thanks db, I may look into that if and when I have money again lol...it is the wifes turn. Hehe, spending around 5-7k on turning two of my three car garage into a dance studio for her and my daughters. May be a while...

Certainly been my pleasure. Good luck with the dance studio. "She who must be obeyed" was a dance mom when mine were little... it was always nice to see them light up when they were dancing. |

Love your rig! Thanks for the videos and pics. How do you like that DXRacer desk? Does anyone know if you can attach an Ergo Freedom Arm to it? Looks like the plastic risers might prevent attachment. Thanks

that is a sweet setup but to make a sweeter, put a piece or wood under the rig, so it doesn't touch the carpet. you don't want any static shock near that thing.
also can you tell us how the liquid cooling loop works, for example from the rez goes to cup then rad then gpu ext ext.. is there space in there for an additional radiator and pump? that would be sweet thx |

@Democules, valod is correct put something hard under that case, don't let it sit on the carpet like that.
@valod, he has double rads at the bottom behind those 4 blue fans. If I'm not mistaken the pump and rad are at the bottom and then it goes to the distribution plate in the back, from the goes to cpu/gpu then to reservior, rad, pump and repeat. I could be mistaken since I don't have one but from what I have seen that is the ball park of it. Democules can help us out with the info. |

if u take that side panel off and take some high-rez pix of the insides that would be sweet.
would like to see the tops the sides and a clear pic of the motherboard to see what can be customized in there. would like to see where the ssd is stored also how the gpu back-plate looks upside down like that |

rads: all XSPC slim rads. 1x560mm (front basement), 1x420mm (front top), 1x280mm (rear basement).
reservoir/pump combo: EK Xres combo unit = D5 PWM pump w/250ml acrylic res. looking at my Aventum 3 loop layout, i believe the loop flow is from the res/pump>560mm rad>280mm rad>manifold/distribution block>cpu>back to the distribution block>420mm (top) rad>back to the distribution block>graphics card(s)>distribution block>280mm rad>560mm rad>pump/res. |

@Democules
I noticed in your video, you had DS send you your old cards' shroud, backplate, etc (all the items they remove when setting up the GPU for LC). They appear to be shipped in the crate with your pc. I requested the same service for my GPU, so that I can possibly set the card back to original to sell, when a better single GPU option comes out next year. I was told that it would cost me $35, which i paid because it is worth it. Did you get a nominal charge for DS to do this for you? Just wondering. I hope you are enjoying your new toy. Boc |
