Welcome to the forum Traumahound!
Nice strong Aventum X build. Excellent 8-core/16-thread CPU, top GPU, top mobo and cooling. I do have a couple suggestions as DS will allow changes if you decide to do so...just ask. Either way this rig will do the job! Be aware that the Samsung 970 Pro 512 GB M.2 NVMW SSD you selected is not as new or as fast read / write speed as the new PLUS model. Both are plenty fast, but if you intended on selecting the best, it's now the PLUS. With AVentum X and HydroLux Pro cooling in the best case on the planet for water cooling everything... I recommend you go Stage 2 Overclock on the excellent I9-9900K processor. Intel makes the K and X Class processors to be fully Overclocked, and there simply is no better safer water cooling solution than having the 2x huge 560 mm rads and a big 280 mm in the DS Aventum! Get all the CPU performance Intel designed for just $99. Case fans are a bit more important when there are 14 of them keeping everything frosty. A fan upgrade here to the better Corsair LL Series RGB fans or the best Corsair Ml Series RGB fans improves performance and gets you longer Corsair warranties. It also includes however many Corsair Fan Control Pro Nodes are needed. You would sub in the Corsair Commander Pro control module instead of the DS Thermal board, and all your fans would Sync RGB design and get managed via Corsair iCue software. The Corsair AX1200i PSU is better Platinum efficiency, is all modular & digitally controlled, and has a 10 yr warranty. DS parts only carry the 1 yr DS system warranty. The same goes for the DS RAM...Corsair Vengeance or Dominator RAM have longer MFG warranties and both are RGB equipped and controlled via iCue. Inexpensive to switch to Corsair. If any of these suggestions appeal, to you, don't wait to ask DS about any changes you wish...They are very flexible... |

The RAM upgrade takes you so inexpensively from 1 year warranty to Lifetime from Corsair. |

Thanks for the info and thanks for contributing so much to this forum. Actually I was going to do the same upgrades but the 400 shipping fee curtailed that. Thanks again.

I'm pretty sure I can speak for my forum pal Cretae in that we really enjoy seeing new DS customers get the very best DS rig they can... Glad its a big hit!
BTW...For your work, it's a plus that it looks like they used a 2 x 16 GB Dominator RAM kit...so remember that if you need or want to add more RAM...RAM's pretty darned inexpensive right now and you do appear have 2 open slots. Match the timing numbers (usually on a sticker along the side of each stick) and it's an easy plug & play upgrade you could do for yourself when ready! |

yeah I mainly do effects work and comp, so extra ram would be useful just need to save up, and I might get some new fans for the front 4 radiator fans at the bottom and the back ones..I believe they are 120? Anyway I'm going to try to find a solid color only...alot easier to deal with..thanks again hockeybuck

My pleasure sir! Thought more RAM might be on your list...lol.
For fans I think 140 mm...but I'm not positive if they used 140 mm or 120 mm...have to ask them. I would still recommend the Corsair LL or ML RGB LED fans. Corsair sells them in 3-fan packs (available on Amazon, Newegg, etc) that each include 1 Lighting Node Pro module and there are good video install instructions on Corsair's website. That would allow you to change your mind on LED color or patterns as often as you like, and that includes all solid color...or lights off if needed...lol. Enjoy! I've got to talk to Alex about getting a NSFW button on these forums. Those pics are just too sexy for the office.

Lol, just measure the front of the fan! Pretty easy to tell 120mm from 140mm that way.
When you have the budget for it, better is always...better. Congrats on being well pleased. Thanks for the update and pics! |
