I'm just wondering what the average amount of time your rigs spent during the Quality Assurance Stage? I spoke to my friends who have bought from DS before and they said they were on Stage 6 for 1-2 days before moving on whereas I'm now going on a week as of today. I'm just kind of worried that there is something wrong with my build since I haven't gotten any updates since the Stage 6 email.
Thanks! |

I would call or email them. They'll let you know. The average amount of time for many doesn't help much. Parts availability, a part that failed stress testing ( good they found it ), shipping boxes that ran out( that has happened), waiting for a new batch of Bolt 2 cases(you know they have to be popular
), so many variables.Good Luck and let us know. ![]() Edited by bprat22 - 26 Feb 2014 at 10:08am |

Alright, thanks. If I have some time after work I'll try to give them a call and see what's up.

Just called and had a quick conversation with a customer service rep. Apparently they're waiting for a faceplate, so I guess there was an issue with the case. Hope it's resolved quickly. Getting antsy and I'm not too sure if my laptop is going to last much longer.

That's rough. On the plus side, the issue's been caught before you even open the box. On the minus side... the wait between ordering a new system and it arriving can be agonizing.

Very very agonizing. I was tempted to say ship the system without the faceplate and I'll install it myself. Lol. I just don't like being "that" annoying customer.

No problem! The team said it should be any day now for it to ship.

It has now been two weeks since I entered Stage 6 with no end in sight. My old laptop is blue screening. My cheetos and hot pocket supply is running low. My Sobe Lifewater supply has been used up for the past 48 hours. Mobile games on my tablet can only keep me occupied for so long. What do I do? Do I buy a book from the Google Play store? Or God forbid, start running on a treadmill? My options are limited. Time is running out. The walls are closing in.

@Arkansas I actually exchanged some emails with management. They say since there is a such a large supply for the Bolt II the faceplate is on back order or something along those lines.

Well the Bolt II does seem to be pretty popular so i can see why the faceplant is on back order |

Ask them, how much without the faceplate. Just kidding.

Lol. Like I mentioned above, I'm tempted to ask them to ship it without the faceplate and just install it myself when it's done.

I'm sure there's solidarity from a lot of us waiting with you. I might purchase a bolt 2 as well but am waiting for a few reviewers (on the forum or elsewhere) to give it a once over before placing an order. The hold up is frustrating, I'm sure, hopefully it won't be too much longer (or as you said perhaps you could get the system sans faceplate).

Checked my email this morning and my Bolt II shipped out late yesterday. I should have it by early next week. If time permits I'll try to get a review together by late next week.

Nice, take some time to enjoy your system when it comes in. If you get a chance to give a quick update on the noise and/or cooling let me know, it would be much appreciated.

Did you have plans for the weekend to keep your mind occupied? Here's to hoping your system gets delivered on monday, look forward to hearing some first impressions if you get the chance.

Expected delivery date is Tuesday, but I'm hoping it gets delivered Monday. I'll have to keep an eye on the UPS tracking data.
Plans for this weekend to keep me from going nuts? Well I do have a 24 hour shift Saturday morning to Sunday morning for my EMS job. But after that, probably get myself a crap ton of ice cream, popcorn, and binge watch the new season of House of Cards on Netflix. |

Well, regardless of the toilet situation, thanks for being active on the forums. It can be frustrating when people say they will report back then never post again, especially when they are getting a product you're interested in. Enjoy the rest of sunday - not too much longer!

I'm now posting from my new Digital Storm Bolt II. Initial impression, damn that's sexy... and quiet. More in depth review once my mind can comprehend something other then awesomeness.

On a side note, I absolutely abhor Windows 8.1, I should've stuck with 7. Not only is Metro a giant pain in the behind, I tried to test out my Blu-ray drive by inserting a disc. Could not get it to run, did a little research, Windows 8 doesn't even have DVD or Bluray playback. Trying to get it working with VLC, but I'm running into problems even with that.

Yeah, I think removing that functionality wasn't the best move. What trouble are you having with VLC?

I keep getting that whenever I try to open it, doing a little research on it now, but I'm multitasking. |
