So, my fans ramp up and down just fine, and I play games on top of a tri-fan cooling pad as well, but I've just noticed that there is a surprisingly toasty area of the keyboard in the area of JKL, IOP, and 90-.
Is this something to be concerned about? I don't want to melt the keyboard mechanics on my new laptop :-/ |

Laptops don't run cool if you're a gamer. It sounds normal to me. I have a surface laptop when I play FFX the fans turn on and it gets so hot I can't put it on my lap.

I am no stranger to gaming laptops and the heat they generate. I bought a cooling pad because I know the underside gets all sorts of toasty....but this is the first I've had that gets an extremely hot spot on the keyboard.
Could someone else that owns an Avon laptop or a DS employee chime in on this one, please? |

on mine i get a "warm" spot (not really hot to touch just warm) on my keyboard starting from about where the F key is to halfway through the Enter key. that whole middle area gets warm while it's running idle or gaming. The main areas that get sorta hot is the top areas of the keyboard and where the black bar with the AVON logo / power buttons are. Thats where the heat pipes run for the cpu and gpu. The 2 are in between the fans for reference. cpu & gpu are located around the 7 & =/+ keys so that would make sense to have a hotspot in or around those areas. Any time i game on mine i always have it sitting on a chillpad and generally you can touch the laptop anywhere and it's really not unpleasent to touch. I also use MSI Afterburner / Riva Statistics tuner to cap the framerates off to 60fps to keep thermals in check.
