Avon laptop ram configuration?

So i'm thinking about getting 16gb ram since 32gb seems a bit excessive, but i was wondering how the 16 is set up, would it be in 2x8gb. or 1-16gb ram?
Forces abroad are of little value lest there is prudent counsel at home

i would think it would be 2x8 as i never heard of 1-16gb of ram

The 2x8gb would also be my guess.   It's a dual channel memory so they would use sticks in pairs.

Thanks, do you know if i can swap the hard drive in the future? I'm currently using a macbook pro where you can't upgrade anything ;(

Usually 2x8GB is what I've seen, both in the easily-accessible slots on the underside of the laptop.  The other two slots will likely be under the keyboard, and much harder to access.  At least that's the setup on all the laptops I've worked on.  Doesn't mean there isn't another configuration that does it differently.

If you think you might go to 32GB at some point, consider how comfortable you are taking one apart, possibly even needing to remove the screen portion to access these slots on some PCs.  Not sure about what's required with the Avon configuration however.  See if you can dig up a service manual.  Probably it's some kind of Clevo/Sager chassis.

I believe it's built off the Sager 9752 chassis. The hard drives are upgradable.
