Topic: Avon with External Display Posted: 10 Jun 2019 at 11:43am |
Hi Folks:
Looking to buy an Avon later this year. Never had a laptop before so maybe this will be an easy question. Typically on my desktop (2011 ODE-3 baby!). I game on one main monitor, with a secondary monitor up for non-game stuff (comms, web, music, whatever). The Avon has a display port for an external monitor. Any watch outs when doing this? i.e. am I inserting lag/delay in the process? The 17" display is nice, but I'd rather game on a large monitor with the native laptop screen as the secondary. Is there a best way to do this? Or maybe it doesn't matter? All thoughts welcome! Thank you, Jawa |

Hi Jawa, Don't have a laptop but if you have an Nvidia gpu, in its settings (Nvidia Control Panel/Display/Set up multiple displays) you can specify which monitor is primary (1). I imagine its the same with AMD gpus. Maybe this helps or really not.

Thanks, hoserator. I'm now wondering if a display docking station would make the most sense. Especially if I was going to hook up 2 external monitors.
*Edit* Just realized there are 2 Mini DisplayPorts on the back of the Avon. No docking station needed. Edited by Jawa - 10 Jun 2019 at 12:48pm |
