I am using the "backup & restore" software included in windows 7. Any advice on whether I should purchase backup software or stay with the one included in windows 7.  If recommend to purchase, what do you like?

I like to do a mirror backup. That way if you drive goes down you have all files and progams on the second drive. It dose cost you a drive but if you lose all your crap it a small price to pay. I been there done that and can never find all disk and progams.

When you say "mirrow backup", is that the same as "system image" in windows 7 backup & restore.  Do you do the mirrow backup to a second internal hard drive or to an external usb hard drive?

OK, I installed a 120 gb ssd and migrated the os to it and have all program files on it. So, I should be able to use the original internal hdd for the mirror.
