So I've had my ODE 1 for a day now. Everything set up great, computer started up without problems etc. Today I let SWTOR install and I played for an hour or so. I stepped away from the computer and came back to a black screen. I originally thought the monitor had just gone to sleep since I haven't changed all the sleep settings, but I couldn't get anything to come back on the screen. My speakers were also making a strange humming noise, and it was then that I figured out that something had crashed. I restarted the computer. At first I thought the computer had rebooted into safe mode because of the screen resolution, but after looking around I noticed the error 43 code in windows. Says there's a problem with Nvidia gtx 570. So basically the graphics card is not working. The fan is running on it, and the monitor is plugged into it, but everything is in 800x600. And when trying to do anything with resolution, it says that the computer is not connected to any GPU. So my question is, did my graphics card just die in less than 24 hours after getting this computer? Any help on this? I will call DS in the morning, but this is very frustrating.

update, I have re-seated the video card, and ram, made sure all connections were good. I also, uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers. But still says there a problem with the card. When I try to get into Nvidia control panel, it says that the monitor is not connected to any nvidia gpu. Device Manager just have the yellow exclamation point. And says windows has shut this device down because there's a problem. At this point I'm convinced the GTX is bad. But I'm no computer expert, so...

Sounds like you need to get in touch with DS customer support. It does sound like a bad video card. However it could also be a bad monitor, bad monitor cable, motherboard problem, etc. If possible try to eliminate as many of these possibilities as you can.

With all of that being said, I can promise you DS will take care of you. I actually had a bad video card as well on my new ODE (lvl 0) when I received it last year. I have a feeling something happened during shipping since I know DS does a good job of testing everything before it leaves their facility. Best of luck and let us know how it goes.

Yea, it was a bummer to say the least, but I have faith the problem will get resolved. Just had my hopes up for a full weekend of gaming hahaha...I ruled out the monitor and cables, so it's either the video card or god forbid, the motherboard. I will be keeping my fingers crossed that it's not the latter...

Will do..I can still do basic internet tasks, but I'm definitely not going to stress the wimpy onboard video. I'm an understanding person, and I realize that DS builds the computer and can't control when something has a bad component. I'm fortunate to have had the money to put on hold, so they'd send me another right away, with a full refund when they get the bad card back. If I didn't, then I would have had to wait even longer....So wish I had another card I can put in temporarily, but oh well. I'm a retired MMO player, but I was really starting to dig SWTOR. LOL

This is just another thing to chaulk up as bad luck! I hope anyway.

Received the replacement video card yesterday, and so far so good. It's a relief that it was just the gpu. Now, if I could just figure out why the media keys on this Lycosa keyboard keep my windows media player going crazy and popping up constantly......

For the keyboard issue, go to their website and download the latest driver and see if that helps.

Similar to your media player question, I have the same problem with iTunes. I start it, sync and close/exit it and it pops back up. Keeps doing that. I have to reboot the PC to get it to stop.

Research on the Apple forums, indicates something to do with MS Messenger and sharing what you're currently playing. No help to me since I don't have Messenger installed, but maybe this will help you.

Oh, and I'm using a first edition G15 Logitech keyboard with the media controls on it, so maybe it's something to do with the KB also. <shrugs>

Yea, I've tried everything, and I should have done my homework on this keyboard a little better. Ugh oh well, what can ya do? I just disabled media player for now. I never honestly use it for anything.
