That's hilarious!! I'm not a big Joe West fan (I find him one of those umps that feel they're the show and not the game itself) but that's a pretty big achievement and a great prank! Although, how'd they know he'd show up that day? There had to be some 'inside' knowledge to be able to do that in advance...

Reservations... the traveling refs/umpires are always booking ahead... especially steakhouses like Manny's where a Porterhouse can run you $50+   (source: I work with a NCAA Referee)

I'd bet that he and his crew hit that place every time they're in town.
