I'm trying to figure out what size of battery back-up /UPS to get for my new system.  I have a 620 watt PSU, pro case, and will be hooking up to a 22" LCD monitor.  Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I'd say it depends on how long you want the battery to last.  Most UPC's will last for 15-45m on a full charge, which I feel is more than enough time to safely backup important data and completely power-off your system.

Thankyou Vince for the respose.  I am also curious about the wattage size of the UPC.   I would assume anything over 700watts will suffice.?  Since my PSU is rated at 620watts.   Is it correct to match up PSU power to the amount of the UPC your looking to get power from.  Is is also correct to add in any other components ie; monitor, speakers, into the equation for calculating the amount of power you need from your UPC?
Thanks again for any addition input.

Most of the reviews I've read on UPS hardware have usually included all the components when judging back-up time.  I like the brand APC, they seem to have high-quality and stable UPS, and I've also used their products on a few servers I had to maintain in the past.

AFAIK, it is a good idea to match up the UPC wattage to the PSU wattage.  But also keep in mind that all your components together may not be using up the full 620w that your PSU provides.

Vince:  Again, thankyou very much for the insightful information.  I had a feeling that the UPS rating should be close to the PSU demand but I was unsure.  Thanks for the clarification.
