1. Don't spam, there is a edit button for a reason.
2. People would take you more seriously if you actually tried to speak English properly. Right now, it sounds like a 5 year old whining. |

I actually remember refusing to allow your order to ship today. I noticed the paint job developed a few craters after it fully cured. We rather not ship out a system with such an issue. We will need to take apart the machine to remove the panels and re-do the entire paint job.
We did offer you the option of either going with no paint job or having the system shipped with regular black panels. If you go with the regular black panels, then we could ship you the new painted panels. It's quite tricky to replace them though (front door wise).
We are not trying to give you a run around, just making sure we give every computer the attention it desires. Stocking painted panels would be great, but, we make improvements to our paint jobs so often that we want our customers to always receive every new enhancement.

Shoot. I wish I knew earlier. We have already sanded down the paint job and applied a base coat. We are now waiting for that to fully dry and cure. Honestly, we wouldn't let a system ship with a bad ding. It would not be up to our standards.
However, if you would like us to send it with the black aluminum finish, I can look into getting it out of our facility as quick as possible?

Glad to hear Digital Storm is not sacrificing quality. Some people tend to get frustrated about a delay and vent their anger on the forums believing it will speed things up. It's not going to help. You should put that energy into something else. I know a few companies that take at least two months on shipping a system with a paint job. Let Digital Storm do their job to make sure you get a great product. If you don't want to wait for the paint job then I highly recommend going with the standard black aluminum finish. I personally love the black finish. |

You are right on the 5-10 business day estimate. There are some updates that are coming to the website, and we will definitely make sure customers with paint jobs know that their systems might take a little longer.
Update:
He sent me a PM and we are going to get his system shipped with the black panels and send the painted panels later. Edited by Alex - 19 Oct 2007 at 12:31am |

Just to add in DS's defense... I got a call out of the blue today from Robert informing me that they had recieved a shipment of bad tj9 panels (bad paint) thankfully it didnt affect my order because earlier last week it was upgraded to tj10.
Patience is not easy when you are waiting for something like this. What makes it so hard is because you know are really getting something special. We could have gone with unpainted and it would have been still cool... but when you add a "luxury" item, you really need to give them time to do it right... |

I also had problems with DS's shipping dates. I ordered on September 5, 2007 and after complaining after 2 weeks went by they said they would get my comp out by the following Mon. After receiving my comp I found problems running any game and called DS and Kelly helped me troubleshoot the problem. ( Which was most likely a bad video card, could have been damaged in shipping. UPS is not the nicest to packages sometimes. Minor damage to Box, no damage to comp. that was visible. ) Upon numorous trouble shooting escapades I checked out my System info and found that the processors where not what I ordered and Kelly set up a pick up for the comp. Shipped back to DS on October 11. Arrived DS October 16. Then I get a call that the processor I ordered a GX6800 is not in stock and they want me to upgrade to a GX6850 at a 5% discount or a Downgrade to a 6700 for a credit. After thinking about it I called them back and spoke to Alex and he gave me another choice, that they would find a 6800 and install it as I ordered. I chose to stick with my orginal order of a GX6800. While I cant say my opinion about DS is 100% great, I do have to give them credit where credit is due and they are standing behind their product. Shipping to and from Alaska is not cheap and they have not only paid for additional charges not pick up by their ordering system ( I was charged $61 and actual shipping was $271 ), but they have picked up the reshipping costs. I still see my processor being offered on their web-site so hopefully their shipping dates and other fixes to their website will be fixed soon. Someday I will have a comp so I can really see what it can do.

I'm personally beginning to be very disappointed with my order, and it doesn't all have to do with a delay. I haven't posted anything because I have been emailing back and forth with Dave, and will see what happens first.. But I don't think that we should call people childish for taking issue with something they think isn't right - I can understand the DSO cheerleading but some people are really quick to jump all over anyone expressing anything less than full-on enthusiasm. Watching DSO for the last two months, it is clear that their order execution is not always perfect. They are small, busy and stuff goes wrong sometimes. There is room for improvement. I suspect that building these machines economically is not as easy as it looks. Unlike some companies, DSO's intentions are good and their follow through in fixing problems is excellent. The one thing they sometimes can't do is fix problems overnignt. Some things just aren't humanly possible. Edited by Bill the Cat - 19 Oct 2007 at 6:33pm |

They are not calling him childish because he is complaining, they are doing that because his typing and writing skill is at the level of a small child's.
I would be upset if the expectations stated for the order process weren't met, but I would also take 5 minutes to frame my complaint in a manner that is clear and concise.

Shipping delays, damages in shipping, and even the need of technical support are all aspects that every computer company has. We strive to take care of every situation as quickly as possible for every customer. We want our customers to be happy. Having issues and delays is part of every computer company. Every company is going to come through certain issues. It’s how we treat them and make sure we resolve them as quickly as possible is when we can shine and help our customers. Delays: These happen mainly out of our control. When we have a defective batch of hardware, we are not able to get a hold of replacements because the manufacture has caught on to the problem. This creates a shortage in the market and delays. Once we receive the replacement hardware, then we are able to get things moving on again. Technical Support: Computers in general are always going to have issues that come up down the road. It might be good for now, but, over time, you never know what virus or what issue can arise. That's why we offer life-time technical support and also a 3 year warranty coverage. Our goal as a company is to try to minimize all of the issues that arise for all of our customers. We are always looking to improve our operations. That said, it’s done on a daily basis. REALLY! Out of the hundreds of machines that we ship out a month, a few customers are always going to have issues and require troubleshooting. This is something you cannot work around in the computer industry. One thing that you should know is that, this is where we shine and make sure we help our customers as effectively as possible. Every business will have customers that go through a bumpy ride, but, some companies let their customers feel every bump. We come in and try our best to save you. |
