NOD32 all the way, you will have the least amount of false positives, if nothing else at all.

Those are both very good, however I believe Bitdefender antivirus to be better. Between the three, it basically comes down to user preference.

Can't say I'll stay away from the porn but I definitely don't download a bunch of random crap. I was thinking about bit defender but it seems quite a few people have problems with that software. Just looking on their forum and seeing many people complain made me turn away and look for something else. Looks like I'm getting ESET.

I test software all the time, as you know I own a software site, if you know what is good for you, you would stick with nod32.

I agree. Had it for about 3 weeks now. My favorite by far.

My AVAST just started telling me my free year is about to run out. I'm not really sure what to do, I havn't had any problems with it and I have been virus free. Should I take the plunge and buy an Antivirus? Any ideas!?!?!

I just found the previous post about people ranting and raving about eset smart security. Think I will give this a whirl and if you recommend it, sounds good to me!
Thanks for the info bud!

My biggest advice on any a/v software is try before you buy. Also look for any additional features from the suites you may want beyond the "basic" a/v, including f/w and other "tools" and see if it causes any slowdowns or conflicts. Do your research; e.g. based on my research and testing a couple of months ago, ZoneAlarm seems to be disappointing, Norton is much better than in the past, McAfee seems to still to be lagging. My top 3 were BitDefender (based on additional features I was looking for), Norton (it's way better than it was 2-3 yrs ago) and NOD32. Bottom line is any of the top tier should do the job for you.

I like Norton 2010, Anti-virus, not the internet security and definitly not the 360. They had problems for a few years but now it's really fast, secures known and trusted programs and files in a list and has pulse updates every 5-15min. My friend had McAfee and when I tested it with Norton by remote desktop she had over 2000 viruses and root kits.
