Hi, i'm new here, and I was wondering if someone coud put together a system for my budget of 1500$.
Also, recomendations for a screen, speakers, mouse and keyboard would be nice, ill be buying these seperate =) I have 500 dollers extra to spend on these.
What I plan to use the computer for:
-Video and Photo Editing
-Gaming
note: I'll be using my old computer for movies and word processing etc.
Here are some games that I own but I can't run very well on my current computer. I'm hoping to be able to use them on a new one
-Flight Simulator
-NWN2 (my friend gave it to me so i'd kind of like to play it )
-Online Games (I don't play very many action or shooting games though)
If you need to know anything more, just ask ^^ Srry it's kind of messy

Here's what I would do:
Digital Storm Configuration: 181057
Combined cost is 2022.98, so I am over budget by a very small amount over what you had set aside to accomplish the entire system. If you want to stay strict with that $2000 price tag total, I would ditch the gaming keyboard and just do a M$ ergo model. Edited by Tyler Lowe - 07 Sep 2008 at 2:09pm |

Yes, that's what i was thinking HM. With the 8800GT's so cheap now, and with that PSU installed, it would be possible to SLI in a couple of months and really get some extremely good perfromance from a budget build.

That is a great build for that budget with a good upgrade down the road as TL says.

No OC. There's really not enough room in the budget to pay for that service and still fit in everything that would make for a great experience for all of the tasks listed, at least not that I could see. Setting a mild OC is pretty easy these days. I figure with all of the help available at sites like EVGA and the myriad OC forums, since the build does include improved CPU cooling and a decent case for airflow, this would be a logical place to cut expense.
