Looking for opinions on the best cable to connect your monitor to the graphics card. Currently im running a Dell ultra sharp monitor which is an okay monitor. Only 60hz refresh rate. I will soon be upgrading to a 144hz refresh rate monitor just wondering what everybody uses for connecetion cable?

Thanks

On my Dell Ultra Sharp at 1080p  I used the DVI port.  On my new !440p at 144 Hz I'm using the Display Port.

Some display port cables are only rated for 1080p at 60 Hz. Make sure you get ones that will carry the whole signal. Most times, I believe the monitor will come with fully certified cables.

On my secondary 1080 I run the Display port, on the primary 1080 (both 60Hz) I run HDMI... And I'm keeping that when I can trade out for a 1440 (144Mz)

From what I understand, you're going to be at least better off using DP for the higher res AND the higher refresh. Might be your current HDMI cable couldn't give you either one. And if you get G-sync, the newest HDMI cables won't optimize it or perhaps run it at all.

Again, best you use the cable that comes in the box, I'm thinkin'.

I always go Display port personally and I've tried vga, dvi and hdmi. DP is my preferred, and afaik based on what I've read many sites agree that DP is the way to go particularly for gaming displays.
