I am trying to find the best gaming laptop from DS.  Will a laptop be able to handle all of the newer release games at high resolutions?  I have no real home so I am constantly on the move.  I am trying to avoid getting a desktop.

Is it possible to get a laptop from DS that will perform?
What is my best bet?

Should I just go with a desktop ?

I would highly recommend getting a good Desktop and then considering a laptop down the road. Desktops outperform laptops in many ways..... Performance, upgradability, overcloakability... Laptops do have mobility but in my opinion, spend 2-3k on a desktop not a laptop.

Gotta agree with Robert here.  I mean, you can have a gaming laptop, but it'll never approach the performance or the 'bang for the buck' of a gaming PC.

I agree that there is no (or little) contest in terms of performance on desktops vs. laptops - nonetheless, if mobility is a big factor for you (and it sounds like it is) I would advise you go for the laptop. Whatever trade-off you are making in eye candy and frames per second, you can play wherever you go - especially if you are "constantly on the move."
