I need a good pc for less than 2500 dollars. I need thge monitor, speakers, and surge protector, which in total cost about 300. So you have 2200 to work with. Open to any suggestions.

This is what I came up with...

I left out the monitor speakers and surge protectors for you to pick.

Thanx. If I wasnt planning to use SLI, just a single vid card, and ot planning to upgrade to it it in the future, would the Maximus Formula be a better choice than the 680i??

What do you plan on upgrading in the future?

Thehe Maximus Formula supports 45nm quad cores while the 680i does not.

The Maximus Formula also supports PCI-E 2.0

The 680i and Maximus are the same price so yes if you don't plan on using SLI, the Maximus would be the better option.

(imo I also think that intel chipsets are superior to nvidia =x)

So if you're not worried about going SLI but will be getting a 9 series card, teh asus would be a better choice since it's PCI-E 2.0 based?

Not exactly...

PCI-E 2.0 really only matters if you are going to be running SLI or Crossfire... It won't be for a couple more years before cards actually use the bandwidth provided =x

The Maximus Formula is just a better choice over the 680i A1 because it is a more future proof motherboard...

Out of the reviews I've read about it the OC'ing availability is better than the 680 correct?
