I know this has probably already been discussed, but I can't seem to find it. I did a search & nothing comes up, but...
Is BetaForce PC connected to DSO? I noticed they are both from Fremont, CA. And the configurator is the same. |

extremely interesting, ive never heard of this at all but they are definitely 100% the same thing. both websites are near identical minus the art and color schemes, exact same address
the beta PC site was JUST registered at the end of sept? maybe a contract problem or a split? o.0 how did you come across that domain arnold?
there is ALSO information on there from a review that points to ballisticgaming, which is discussed here tech and had supposively teamed up with maximumpc and tomshardware.. and if you look at the crest for ballisticgaming its the same as betaforce http://i.tpucdn.com/img/09-11-24/112a_thm.jpg
oh and if you try to go to ballistic gaming you get this
i am super interested to see what this means

We renamed 'Ballistic Gaming PC' to 'Beta Force PC'
This is a separate sister company of Digital Storm. It's been discussed before on the forums a few times. That's also why the company address is also the same one for Digital Storm. Originally, Ballistic Gaming PC was going to be a separate brand that was going to focus on more main stream gaming systems, but, we decided to shift that focus to 'Special|Ops' with Digital Storm. As of right now, 'Beta Force PC' is just there as a place holder. It's nothing that is actually being worked on.

It looks identical to what I remember of the Ballistic Gaming site, so I assume it's the same thing just with a different name.
Ballistic/BetaForce is indeed a sister company to DS. If I remember right they were going to try to concentrate on cheaper more generic builds, but I dunno, the prices seem pretty high for that. EDIT: Oops, Alex ninja'd me. Guess that covers that. Edited by Dragoonseal - 15 Oct 2010 at 4:03pm |

gotcha
for what its worth, i think its good that you stuck to just DSO, the name itself is getting a lot of momentum, id say giving it a wider selection would be way more beneficial than forking like that

Thanks for the response Alex. That clears things up.
BTW, I'm with !ender...no reason to ever use another name when DSO has built such a great reputation. Heck, if you were selling widgets, I think it would probably be a good idea to attach the DSO image to them somehow -- would sell better!...lol. Final note -- my DS lappy is scheduled to deliver on Tuesday. I can't wait! |

Kind of confused about Beta Force PC as you said its there as a place holder. Yet it seems to be a fully functioning business, atleast you can walk through the config tool all the way to check out? Maybe I'm missing something, sad thing is the case choices I wish you guys had are on that setup. Maybe you guys should merge some of those choices into the DS setup.
