Ok im gonna be buying parts for a build soon and i can't decide for cooling options for my i7 2600k
so far i don't know if i should go with the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus with a 2nd fan added to it ,or the Corsair Hydro H70 (note i don't think i got the room for the Noctua NH-D14 that's why it wasn't an option) for the other parts i was gonna go with a Cooler Master HAF 922 for case, and a MSI Z68MA-ED55 for the mother board. so what do you think would be the better cooling option And Explain why Please |

Hyper 212+ because its only $25 and can get you to 4.5 and even higher if you add a second fan.

Also I strongly recommend against a msi mobo. I have the p67a gd55 and have had nothing but problems. Also the manual has no information related to troubleshooting In it. Like doesn't say what the beep codes mean... Also the uefi bios is crap.

i know it would fit but with that MSI motherboard it even says on the Noctua site that "Possible compatibility issues with video cards that have large protruding components at the back. Please see FAQ." hence why i was avoiding it
if thats the case know of any other Z68's at a price in range to that MSI one? Edited by Hitokiri Battousai - 23 May 2011 at 4:32pm |

corsair A70 air cooler is the way to go, its the same at noctua u12.
Do you really need a z68 board? what kind of oc are you after? I don't particularly like asus but right now for the 1155 socket it seems to be doing ok here. Edited by DST4ME - 23 May 2011 at 4:45pm |

Noctua or corsair for sure.. I'd prefer the noctua over the corsair though.

Mainly i want the Z68 so i can over clock if i want to later on,but this comp is gonna be built for say 80% multimedia 15% gaming 5% general use ,so a friend made a build and used a H67,i have been tweaking the build here and there and saw the Z68 which would let me get the best of both worlds so to speak Note this is my first comp build in over 10 years so having the option to over clock wile not losing any of the features of a H67 seemed like a good option to me as for the coolers you suggested ill look into them thanks for the input |

Well if we know the range, we could see what cooler and mobo would take to do that.

Thats cool. keep in mind for 24/7 use you gonna want a low vcore for cpu oc, lower then 1.4, the lower the better.
Good luck

STOP TANTALIZING US ALEX. I CAN'T WAIT ANOTHER 12 HOURS. I don't even know why. I can't buy anything and I'm too chicken to drop a few thousand g's on a computer. But, I'm excited nonetheless. |
