The Black OPS configurator is using Special Deals prices and warranties!!!
Apparantly, you can not order Black OPS at this time, but you may think you are, and getting a huge dicount!!!

I just had a look and I noticed it at well, however I don't thinks it's a bad thing since DS has gotten some flak lately for their price gouging on their black ops systems.
It has always been my opinion that DS should differentiate it's black ops from it's special deals by offering different expanded or superior parts and services for the former rather than just slapping a 20% premium on the main components. For example the black ops systems should offer full tower cases like the silverstone and haf and hailstorm with options for liquid cooling and an extended warranty, while the special deals section should be limited to smaller chassis, air cooling only (or lclcs) and a standard warranty. |

Actually, this is a great thing for customers. We now are offering all of the great perks of a 'Black|OPS' system such as the high-end chassis, cooling, overclocking, modding, etc... at the low aggressive pricing. There are no more confusions on why 'Black|OPS' has such higher prices versus 'Special|OPS' and that customer wished we offered some of the 'Black|OPS' perks on our 'Special|OPS' systems. And yes, the warranty isn't the 3 year parts warranty, but, you can get close enough with a 2 year warranty for $99 (it's free right now due to the Fathers day sale) and honestly another reason why we did this is to lower the pricing and we've seen a very small demand for customers wanting a 3 year parts warranty. Sure, we might be offering one down the road on the configurator, but, not yet. Oh, and the great pricing for Black|OPS may not stay like this for too long. It's a trial run, so you may want to buy a system now before it's too late!

I personally love the current Special|OPS setup. It's amazing, it has all the full options of the Black|OPS except for the longer parts warranty, but at Special Deals pricing. Maybe a 5 year labor and 3 year parts warranty for +$249? Eh eh, wink wink nudge nudge?
I'm curious to see what the Black|OPS section gets replaced with. |

The Black|OPS section is basically going to be the way it currently is. The only difference between 'Black|OPS' and 'Special|OPS' is what chassis we feature. It's more of a marketing thing honestly.
We rather not create two confusing series with different pricing, etc... We've basically fused the benefits of both into something that a large portion of customers can now take advantage of. |

Thanks for the heads up, Alex. I had no warning, so I was worried it was a glitch like some of the others since the recent change. I was worried some folks would order over the weekend only to find out there was a glitch and the system they thought they were getting was several $100's more. Never a pleasant surprise!
