I've been looking around the "ideal configs" and I've noticed that no one is using the Bigfoot Network Card option. I know the physix cards are sort of lame, but I haven't heard anything good or bad about bigfoots...what's the deal?

Also, I'm looking to get a $3000-$3500 rig, feel free to drop some ideal configs if you have the time.

thanks!

Most of the reviews on the Killer NIC say that although it improves ping it's not worth $200.  Being stationed overseas and already having 500+ ping to any stateside server I opted for the Killer NIC.  Any improvement to my latency is worth it.

The NIC had a lot of issues when it came out, but since then, they've had over a dozen updates to their software/drivers and have worked them out.  Their tech support is very active on their forums and, from what I've seen, are very willing to assist those not seeing improvements with the NIC installed.

I've heard the card is especially good for people who play on university networks, but not really worth it for most personal home users.

I think its good if you game while running internet in background or downloading.

The NIC woun't increase bandwith just make ur pc process gaming packets first before your bittorrent download.

Now what i would do, is invest in a gaming router/switch.
If you are at home and other people use the intenet, the router will let your stuff go out before moms cooking webpage.

I have another pc for intenet so the only thing I'll be doign is gaming, no need a NIC if all I am running in games.

thanks for the advice, right now I live in an apartment with no one sharing a computer or connection. I do like to push my games to the max and want a beast rig... so it looks like it's a little too much luxury for the cost. Not to mention, if I do DL stuff it's not while i'm gaming, I can't imagine where someone would both need to download pirated copies of Bambi while Raiding the Molten core (hum...I feel like that analogy might be outdated).

Thanks for your input i'll keep doing NIC research and see what comes up.
