I've been handed a laptop (make, model unimportant) purchased by a family member who, despite my pleading, bought a machine from another company. Now, while my urge to scream at him "I TOLD YOU SO!!!" must be suppressed, I've now been tasked to pull his bacon out of the fire.

So, let me ask here first. Is there somewhere I can look to get the tools to remove the bloatware installed by most laptop makers?

I'm going to wipe and recover/restart from the disc with the machine and I want to make sure I can pull the bloatware from it before I give it back.

Thanks for any help.

The only way I've done it is to use either Windows Uninstall function or CCleaners Uninstall feature.  Should be easy to do after OS/junk  install before all the other programs are installed.

I'm sure there's 3rd party for that, but maybe others have used them.

Have fun. Big%20Smile

I've also used PC DeCrapifier in the past (it used to be known as the Dell DeCrapifier when it first came out), but haven't used it lately, so not sure if it's still a good tool or not.

Bad news... the place I had to work in had no wifi so I had to pick and choose what got thrown out. Got it working reasonably well, will feel better next weekend when I can just wipe and reinstall wanted stuff.

Oh, and I only mentioned Digital Storm 4 times... I wasn't snarky at all... nope.. not one bit..

If you grab the laptop, turn it upside down, and shake it hard all the unwanted junk will fall out.

Funny as this sounds, I actually did have to do just that. Well, maybe not 'hard' but it did get a shaking.

Give roguekiller a side. It's actually an amazing piece of software. I use it professionally when your mainstream removers, such as anti malwarebytes, can't get the job done. It's just great over all.

Roguekiller... thanks Meller.. I'll look into it when I get my hands on the machine again.  Perhaps I can talk this stubborn fool into getting a proper machine from DS next time.  It's not like I'm continuously talking about what great machines they are or anything... Not to, like, just everyone I know!  Evil%20Smile
