This is about the cd/dvd drive options, specifically the Blu Ray options.  The descriptions are very vague.  One option says Blu Ray Reader DVD Reader, the other says Blu Ray Writer/Reader.  Now I'm just looking for a Blu Ray reader but would like it to be able to read AND burn DVDs/CDs as well.  I want to avoid getting 2 drives.  But there is absolutely no info on these drives, at least I can't find it. No info on what brand it is (Sony, LG, etc) or the more important is whether the Blu Ray/DVD Reader can also burn DVDs and CDs.  If anyone can answer this, it would help me out very much.

ARghh lol.  How does no one know? Just please put aside personal preferences. I simply want to know if the Blu Ray Reader/DVD Reader drive can burn DVDs and CDs. That's it.  That's all I want to know.  And possibly what brand it is.  This is just some bare bones, basic info I'm asking for here.

I did sorta in a round about way already answer the question...I said that to view BlueRay movies the reader would be all you need ...Meaning that it will read but not write.....

Sorry for the personal preference bud.....

I'll leave ya alone.....

I'm asking because almost all the customized PC website I've been to have the same 2 blu ray drives which are LG.  One that reads blu rays and DVDs as well as able to burn  DVDs and another one that burns both Blu Rays and DVDs. I didn't want to assum it was the same here because there was absolutely no further info on it in the config page which is kind of weak.  They should at least post the specs of each drive. It's not that hard instead of making it a guessing game of what you are ordering.

Better than freaking Lite On, and the one I was looking at has gotten great customer reviews from new egg.

Great customer  reviews, is able to play Blu Ray and HD-DVDs, is able to burn DVDs CDs and has Lightscribe.  AND it's cheaper than what Digital Storm wants for a Lite-On Blu Ray Reader/DVD Reader that can't do half the things the LG can. Screw that, I'm going with the LG.  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136133

Now how to go about requesting that component?

Jerry its your money you spend it how you see fit

to request you call DS and ask them for it however the price will be higher, my advise is to get the drive yourself and install it yourself, much cheaper and its easy to install, if you need help, many of us here can help you install it, again its real easy.
