How easy is it to swap out the blue light/fans in the front of the Vanquish 2 case? My computer would be kept in my bedroom and blue light can be pretty darn bright.
And...if I were to swap out those fans would it cause warranty problems? |

Swapping fans is usually not too hard, but front fans in many cases requires some dissembly of the case, and to make room for that possible removal of video cards.
Normally you can replace parts in PCs without voiding the warranty, but it's up to the mfr. to determine if there's user damage. If nothing is obviously physically damaged, I don't see how they can claim user damage, but you never know with damage claims. If it were me, I would just do it as I have built and modified more PCs than I can count, but you do want to take care in doing it ( there are many resources online for help, and pay attention to warnings about ESD.) |

ESD is a static discharge. I ground myself to something metal before touch delicate PC parts, but there are more elaborate methods used by techs who work daily with electronics

Here's a link to a thread that tells how to remove the Vanquish, Corsair 230T, front cover to get at the fans.
http://www.digitalstormonline.com/forums/removing-dust-from-the-mesh-filter-on-vanquish-tidf22849/ Basically, remove both side panels and on the back of the front panel on both sides, are 3 tabs to push to release the cover. The fans can be replaced without effecting the warranty, unless you cause another problem. If the fans bother you while you're sleeping, I would just turn the rig off at night. Mine goes off whenever I'm done every day. But, everyone has their own ways. Good luck. ![]() |
