So I've been eager to post a review, but trying to get enough time on the new machine to be objective. I generally wouldn't post about a poor experience this quickly and, for what it's worth, I haven't given their CS Dept an opportunity to respond. But I'm quite frustrated that when it hits 5PM local time there is no support team. I know they are a small business, but it's hard for me to imagine no post 5PM presence in today's customer service world. Am I supposed to stay home from my job to troubleshoot? In Dig Storm's defense, that is posted all over their website so shame on me for not paying attention.
This is about twice the amount of money I've ever paid for a pc and my last home build didn't blue screen for the entire 3 years I played on it. Hopefully this will turn out to be a non-issue, but I'm very nervous that I'm seeing the BSOD 6 days into ownership. I'm also getting repeated message about poor performance and prompting me to revert to basic view rather than "aero" or something along those lines. Additionally, my keyboard and mouse are completely non-responsive / undetected until well after windows is booted. This may be hardware (Razor gaming keyboard / steelseries xai mouse) but again it worked fine with my old pc. On a side note, the machine is blazing fast 99% of the time. Has anybody else experienced out of the box issues with your new machine? I plan to keep this open until I'm completely satisfied, so I see this as an opportunity for DS Customer Support to shine...I'll keep you posted. |

@Mitch_A,
I just wanted to chime in and say that I'm sorry to hear about the issue with your new PC. I understand how you feel, and I assure you that we'll do our best to take care of you and get the issue resolved. High-performance systems such as the one you ordered are more sensitive to issues (especially when overclocked like yours). However, we do extensively stress-test and benchmark our units before they leave our facility. Many times, it's due to loose hardware from shipping (re-seating memory sticks and the graphics card can fix a majority of problems). in regards to our work hours, I noticed you are in Florida. We're in California, so while we do close at 5:00PM (PST), that's 8:00PM in Florida. We can definitely try to call you towards the end of the day if you wish? I recommend re-seating the memory sticks and graphics card. Here is a video guide which can help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnuC7MHl_RA If you still have issues, I recommend turning off the overclock first, you can load BIOS defaults to remove the overclock (we can always add it back later). Feel free to send an email as well to: [email protected] and we can setup a support ticket and work with you to get the issue resolved. |

7PM my time. Little known fact outside of FL - Two time zones. That's typically about the time I get home. I walked through the door at 6:45 today. Sat down at the PC, blue screened, grabbed the number to DS and bam...5PM your time. I'm sure we will get it sorted...I've been up and running for 1.5 hours now. I'm hoping it was a fluke, but my experience has been Blue Screens are rarely a one time occurrence.

Blue screens are part of owning a high-end pc. High-end parts are moody.
As long as its not giving you blue screen on a regular basis, there is no reason for alarm. Edited by DST4ME - 18 Feb 2013 at 11:00pm |

I get blue screen every now and then, not often. Selecting the Restore option during Repair from Safe mode fixes it. Sometimes happens after deleting an old game or program when I boot the next day. WhoCrashed always says a driver but who knows.
Like DST said, if its very random then its a pain but happens. If it happens alot try updating video card drivers. Good luck. |
