well after having monitor problems for over a year and a half, im on my fifth dell u2711.
![]() im now experiencing bluescreens where the comp will reset itself. sometimes will hear a annoying audio sound coming from the speakers also. windows reports it as nvidia driver stopped working. i get this playing games, and runnin stability tests w/ furmark. but the thing is its only wen i have sli enabled!?? ive done everything from rolling back to older drivers, clean install of drivers, cleaned the pc-no dust bunnies. any help from the experts would be great. im thinking maybe its the sli bridge idk, because w/ furmark its like an instant bluscreen, btw there is no OC on the cards. ill check and see if its the bridge think i have a spare..should i take one card out and test each one w/ furmark or..? idk how to go about troubleshooting this problem thnx in advance. my specs are- asus p8p67 deluxe mb hafx-i7 2600k OC 4.2 noctua d14 gtx sli 570's |

Try running with just one gtx570 in the top slot at a time and see if a bad card shows it's ugly face.
Good Luck.

Do you have your power setting in the nvidia settings set to max performance?. Also for windows power settings if your on balanced change it to high performance. If had that happen before with an old computer and it solved it.

update-well did wat u suggested bpratt, and ran furmark on each card on the top slot and they seemed to run fine w/ normal temps etc.
should i now do the same thing in the second slot?? god this is nerve racking i hope to god its not the MB. in regards to the sli bridge, does it matter if i try a asus bridge on nvidia cards? the asus one was the one tht was included in the box of spare parts tht came w/ the pc. thnx a bunch btw bpratt kinda wish now tht it was as simple as one of the cards, delving deeper into this troubleshooting has got me nervous

Offhand I'd say the cards are fine. Yep, try second slot. You also could take off bridge with both cards still mounted and plug your monitor into each card seperately and see what happens. The bridge should be good, just a flat cable so to speak, but possible.
It is nerve - racking. Good luck. |

update- tried second slot, ran furmark temps seem fine etc. so...idk is it the bridge?? im going to hook em both back in and try the asus sli bridge and see if thts it.
i also changed the global nvidia settings to max power idk if tht is the problem but worth a shot i guess. i noticed one of the cards it appears to be like sweating or a little condensation on the plastic of the card below the backplate running about the full length of the card...idk wat thts from im in a room with a ac..but tht couldnt be it cuz i only see it on one card anywho prolly nothing thought id throw it out there. and any1 reading this, like i stated on my first post im on my fifth ips dell u2711, yes FIFTH! in less thn a year and a half..first 3 lasted me about 3-4 months so fair warning... me however am looking for another company to buy my monitors from.thnx again bpratt for the fast response ill keep u posted on the outcome hopefully its just the bridge im keeping my fingers crossed ![]() |

Just reseating the cards could fix this if you're lucky. Try the other bridge. I would be surprised it makes a difference but stranger things have happened. Like i said, try monitor in each card with bridge off and see.
Hate to say but if both cards work innboth slots but not together, then it could be power supply. Tough to say. |

well some good news, seems i fixed the issue w/e it was just finished running furmark in sli both cards seem stable temps good. this a big relief, this pc has been rock-steady since ive gotten the beast bout a year or so ago, out played four dell monitors....i mean to be honest i wont look elsewhere for a pc ever.
things i did- tried both cards in the top pci lane and ran furmark-passed next i did the same thing but on the second pci lane-passed also went into nvidia and set global settings to max power changed sli bridge- also took off the psu cover and made sure connections were good and dusted a little, very little dust, u could actually eat off my pc ![]() tilt the cap to bpratt, for the fast response thnx again man, made it less nerve racking to actually see the steps to take to solve the issue ![]() ![]() |

So glad to hear. You did an awesome job.
It could've been a bad connection, reseating the cards or kernols suggestion. Its fixed so thats whats important. Enjoy.

well bad news Ive had 2 more lock ups today, couple hours apart from eachother while playing swtor, first time it was a couple minutes into playing thn the second time was about an hour into playing first one said it was video hardware second one windows crashed, i dont think it has to do w/ my cards ran furmark again everything looked fine i think it has to do w/ a driver conflict or something,
i have a creative soundblaster card i uninstalled those drivers and did a clean install earlier after the first bluescreen thinking maybe tht was the problem but it wasnt. is there a way i can upload my dump files and have some1 tht knows about tht stuff take a look so i can actually know wat this problem is because im lost at this point. ![]() any suggestions at this point im all for.. thnx in advance |

Do you have Who crashed installed on your system? if not grab it and analyze it, google the error code and see what it says, or post it here.

If you feel lost, I high, highly recommend reviewing our latest stability issue flow charts. They are available when you log-in from the "My Account" section at the top. They should help you resolve the issue, or at least try 90% of the possible things that can cause it.

Im seeing alot of dangerous files for codemeter.exe on the web. a site even saying to run malwarebytes and spyware programs. dunno if thats the case though. it saying
CodeMeter.exe error is a common Windows error which computer users often run into. This error often occurs if the associated file of an application is missing, damaged, or contaminated by malware. So you may receive CodeMeter.exe error message if you want to run the application or open a file that is associated with CodeMeter.exe file. Your application can not run properly due to this error. And if you leave this error unfixed, it will affect your whole computer stability. Edited by kernols - 17 Sep 2012 at 5:31pm |

Go to Add/remove programs and look for Codemeter and delete if you find it.
Like kernols said., download Malwarebytes, the free version, and see if it finds anything. Like Alex said, follow flowcharts. They have lots of info. Try one ram stick at a time even download and run memtest86 to check ram. Download iso version and right click file and burn to cd. Boot with cd to run test. Try running one video card for awhile. If problem clears then it could be psu. Call DS if you can tomorrow. Good luck. |

thnx for the heads up alex on the flowcharts was a big help been on these forums for awhile and didnt even now about tht. ran heaven for about an hour cards seem fine and scored a pretty decent score xD went through the steps reseating the cards, checking temps, disabling the sound card etc, so atleast it ruled out the cards, im going to continue to troubleshoot.
tried to narrow down the problem but the more i try the more im leaning towards its most likely the game swtor been looking on the forums and i guess alot off ppl are experiencing the same issue, lock ups bsod etc. idk tho its strange if i disable sli i dont get this problem idk im going to look into this further. im going to run swtor again this time w/ out sli and just make sure it doesnt happen w/ sli disabled. on the topic of codemeter, i looked for it in programs and cant find codemeter.exe, ran malware found nothing ran eset, found nothing so idk im wondering if i can just go into msconfig and disable it there? ill keep u guys updated if i run into anything new, but till thn thnx again for the fast responses and just taking ur time to help me out ![]() |

was just curious if an old bios version could cause bluescreens while gaming? and if so how would i go about updating the bios, kinda hesitant on updating the bios dont wanna lose my OC, but is it as easy as just writing the values down and thn just putting thm bak in? if so thn tht should b fairly easy enough for me to do.
i played swtor for about 3 hours on one card and not one problem almost ran better so idk could be the bad code for the game?? disapointing i would love to b able to use wat i payed for. |

SW was built on the Hero Engine, which is a free, notice development engine.
Do not be surprised if you are getting issues. You still can use what you pay for -- but perhaps not with ToR. That was the one thing I didn't like about that game, the crappy engine. |

well good news and bad news- i lost my OC settings, which i thought i could save under profiles in bios, tht i lost once i updated my bios, it reset my bios entirely, wow do i feel like a total ass
guess u have to take something positive out of the negetive so atleast i know how to update my bios which btw i was like 5 versions behind.so my question is how would i go about restoring my OC? does it entail me having to call DS? or is it something i could do w/ some1's help from the forums?? i would like to not have to call but if i must i will. thn again if i think about it, do i have to be still under warranty do call thm for OC assistance?Edited by Aka - 19 Sep 2012 at 8:36pm |

You can call DS or email tech support and I believe they'll send you a copy of your original oc settings. That would be a best way to go in my opinion. Out of warranty is for parts but they are always there for support. Good luck.
Was the bsod the game or is this still a work in progress? Edited by bprat22 - 20 Sep 2012 at 12:17am |

ya i think it was the game swtor, ive ran several tests usung heaven and furmark and both cards seem stable.
i found some pretty good sites on OC been just messing around w/ it through bios found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vBN-cBPs98 w/ my board asus p8p67 deluxe some pretty easy steps tht are practiclly hands free to get, i wanna say i higher OC thn what i had i was at 4.3, atm im at 4.4 ive tried running linux but it seems tht i need to config it right because it doesnt seem to be stressing the cpu looking at cpuiz and real temp. are there some other programs tht i could use to see the OC speed of the cpu, and wat settings do i need for linux on the tech sections just says click all, thn start, which i did but doesnt seem to be doing the trick, i have the x64 edition idk if tht makes ne difference. im going to read through the asus manual and look into ai suite which from what i can tell theres a way u can have a pretty high OC say 4.8 or so and its done in the OS in real time plus it stresses for u all in one, and pretty much hands free. if any1 else has this board i would love to know there opinions on this matter thnx in advance probly should open another thread in prefromance thread.. |
