Hi there!
I'll be travelling between England and Mainland China every now and again over the next few years and am looking for a compact desktop I can take as a carry-on for the plane (probably my only carry-on except a book or two). I don't want a laptop because I want to be able to plug it into my TV and use it as a powerful media box/gaming system. Weight limits are normally anywhere between 5-7kg for the flight. Can you tell me if the Bolt is suitable for this purpose? Would travelling 2-3 times a year like this cause damage to the computer? One last question, how long does a reply from DS normally take? I've e-mailed a few times over the past two weeks with no response. Edited by Rilestone - 28 Jul 2013 at 6:49am |

Hi Rilestone... Welcome to the forums.
The weight of a fully configured Bolt is about 20-30 pounds or 9-13 kg, so that might be a consideration. Transporting a gaming rig on a regular basis isn't usually a good idea, but the Bolt is a very compact, tightly packed pc, so less chance of components loosening up. Depends how well its packed and handled, I would imagine. Of all the pc's around, that would have the best chance of little problems. DS should've responded within a day or so, excluding weekends. Try emailing .. Usually gets excellent results. They are closed on weekends, but sometimes they do get back to you. Good Luck. |

Thanks for the help guys, if it is too heavy I may settle for two Vanquishes instead. Save me lugging one around! Either way I want one of these damn fine looking machines! Have sent the e-mails. Hoping for a reply soon
![]() EDIT : Can the Vanquish models by customised at all? i.e. Change the GTX760 for a 770 and the Windows 7 to Windows 8. Edited by Rilestone - 28 Jul 2013 at 6:20pm |

The VANQUISH models are pre-built and are as-is.
