Bolt: Review

Glad to hear you purchased a Bolt! There's only so much to experience when reading about it, once you see it in-person, it's unbelievable! Make sure you post photos and a review when you get it.

you should find a way to lose some of that wife agro so that when your new rig finally comes she might not notice you playing it constantly

Great news.   Sounds like shipping is very close.   

 

Just got the update. My tracking number has arrived. In just a few days my rig will be where it's meant to be. Wonder how long that is. (yes I know the tracking number will show me) All of a sudden $300 for over night delivery is looking better that the standard shipping I paid for.

You would need to host the picture on a web site and then put the web address of the picture in between 2 IMG tags
For example, in my signature, I have the following code
{img}http://www.speedtest.net/result/2653076808.png{/img}

Only difference is you change the curly brackets {} to square brackets []

My review of DS and my new Bolt.

Web Site:

I have looked all over the internet to find a suitable computer. I have spent hours on poorly thought out and confusing web sites. DS is by far one of the easiest websites for building a computer and seeing exactly what you will get for your purchase.

Customer service:

I had many questions for the DS staff. I started off looking at purchasing laptops. I sent an email or two inquiring about laptops. The response time and the information relayed to me was very good. I then switched my email conversation to desktops and the DS team didn't blink an eye. They continued the email conversation by supplying me with all the information that I asked about. Not once was there an email stating that I changed topics and that I would need to email someone else for those questions. I have had this issue with some of the other computer companies that I have worked with.

Build Time:

I ordered my Bolt on May 1. I received it on May 14. I my opinion this is an incredibly fast turn around time. I did not have a very difficult order, but that's not really the point. Two weeks from start to turning on the computer is great!

Shipping:

I had read several posts on the forums where the recipient had issues with cards or plugs not being seated after shipping. I understand that this is normal. I had no problems in that area. The box that it came in was sturdy and when I opened the computer case nothing had shifted.

Initialization:

After plugging what seems like thousands of plugs to my new rig I turned it on and it worked. The first time. Everything worked. Suck on that every other computer that I have ever owned.

Use (game play):

After downloading and installing my games I have found that there are higher video settings. Not only are these games fun they look good! All of the graphics settings are on Ultra. Example; I was playing World of Tanks while downloading Starcraft. My roommate started complaining of lag spikes. I'm sure it was me taking up the bandwidth, but my rig never even slowed down. I don't think it noticed.

For being able to literally snuff out the players in real life I rate this a 100 out of 100.

In short (too late):

I love this computer. This will be the only place I will ever buy computers from form me and my family. TY DS!
