Hey Folks!
I've been following Digital Storm for years and might buy a Bolt X build but I have several perfectly good SSDs in my current non-DS build that I would like to transfer to my future DS build. Does Digital Storm account for possible future storage upgrades? I want my DS build to have a 1TB 970 Pro M.2 but I'd like to transfer my current M.2. SSD 970 Pro and a 1tb Kingston 2.5 SSD into the build when it arrives. Let me know, it would really help! Thanks. Edited by FknLeon - 09 Jul 2019 at 4:09pm |

Welcome to the forum FknLeon !
Bolt X is a small case design so it uses a Mini-ITX sized motherboard. The Asus Strix-I does have two M.2 drive ports so that will work fine with the builds M.2 NVME SSD Drive1 & your old M.2 SATA III SSD as Drive2. Just be aware that on Mini-ITX boards there are fewer (4) SATA III ports, and your old M.2 SATA III SSD will borrow SATA Port2. The M.2 NVME SSD Drive1 will be using the faster PCIE X4 bus. Your Kingston 2 1/2" SATA III SSD will also fit...BOLT X can fit up to 3 of those per specs. Edited by HockeyBuck - 09 Jul 2019 at 9:31pm |
