Hello,

I have had my Vanquish 5 about a Week now. Today when I turned it on it had a boot failure. I selected "Load Optimized defaults and reboot". Was this the right thing to select? Any idea what caused this boot failure? It seems the CPU idles at lower temp now, could it had been a issue with the overclock?

Thank You.

Depends what the boot failure was. If you have the level 4 with oc'd CPU, then a unstable oc can cause it. Loading defaults does drop the DS overclock and might be the right thing to do.

Sometimes plugging the rig directly into the wall outlast, bypassing a surge protector helps. A call to DS if defaults fixed it, would have them tweak the vcore to give it a bit more voltage, usually.

by selecting that option you've chosen to load a bios performance "default"setting.  however, any custom oc profile will have been dropped.  you would have to go back into the bios and select the oc profile in advanced settings in order to load the oc profile that DS setup for you.

if you wanted to recover from a crash and keep your DS settings you should have selected "start windows normally" or "last known good configuration"
