Updated Sound Blaster driver this morning and now DS no longer recognizes my speakers. They're Bose 20 Multimedia with a RCA type connector. It was in the green plug spot but nothing works now. Which spot is the correct one for these speakers. TKS

Hi Cat.... The green/lime colored plug should be the right one. Have you tried the rear audio plug on the back of pc, directly off the motherboard and the front plug on whatever case you have?.
If neither work, right click speaker icon on lower right of task bar and select Playback Device. Does the speaker show with green checkmark? If so then go to Realtek Audio Manager and make sure its seen and not muted. Go through the screen for proper setup. If no checkmark then you might have wrong or bad driver. Try another driver or... In Device Manager select audio, Realtek, right click and uninstall. Reboot and let Windows re-install dtiver. If front plug doesn't work but back does, there's a small folder icon in Realtek Manager, on right, above plug icons that had a selection, something like ac97, that might need to be checked. Good luck. Edit... just saw your other post about sound card so some of this won't apply. Edited by bprat22 - 04 Jun 2013 at 2:04pm |
