Hi All,

My internet used to fly and I recently noticed it's slower. I checked my speed through speedtest.net and got 60.50 download, and 5.62 upload. My provider is Cox, and I have their premier internet. Is this normal? Or should I call cox and have them check it? Thanks

Cox Premier is rated for up to 50Mbps, so you're probably doing pretty good.  Their Ultimate, more $$$, is rated to 150Mbps.   
 
I have Comcast, so just going by Cox website.

If you're noticing a slow down, I'd review any changes you've made recently. Any new security software, or start up programs? Did you change, or update your browser? Did you make any hardware changes, or change any drivers for your ethernet, etc.? Did you add, or change something with your router or modem?

It might be that something is bogging down your browsing, even though your recieving the same speeds as always.

If you haven't made any changes, and don't think you have any malware, I'd give Cox a call just to make sure your signal strength is still good, and that your modem is still in the proper power range on all its bands.

I'll check those things, but if it is the computer my problems will be solved in a few weeks when I get my Aventum. I'll check with Cox and see if they can run a test. Again, Thanks for your help.

Definitely do a malware/spyware scan just to make sure you don't have something on your computer maliciously using your internet connection
