not sure if im in the right forum, but earlier today i broke the usb port on the front of my computer. i keep my headset plugged in there and i had my feet up and i slipped and landed on the wire to the mic which broke the usb port.

my case is a Cooler Master 942 HAF X and my mic is a 20 dollar microsoft lifechat 3000.

i dont see anywhere else on the case to plug the mic into. my gaming mouse and keyboard are plugged into 3 ports in the back of the case but the mic doesnt fit into any of those ports nor the other ports on the front. im assuming those others are 3.0 ports? i use a razor naga mouse/razor anansi keyboard.

anyways, what can i do to fix this? or what else can i do? is there a way i can plug this mic into the the ports that say "ss" on the front of the case via some sort of adapter? should i just toss the mic and buy a new mic that will fit into these other ports?

The blue USB 3.0 ports are backward compatible to USB 2.0.    Should be able to use those two on the front of your HafX.  Same for any USB 3.0 on the back , part of whatever motherboard you have.  USB 2.0 fits into 3.0.

Hope this helps. Big%20Smile
