I've had my computer for about a month now and it's been working pretty well the whole time. I haven't changed anything in terms of hardware or drivers for weeks.
Out of nowhere yesterday when playing Civ5, I got a BSOD. Then today I was just casually browsing with firefox and got a BSOD again. Up until this point, I didn't even think it was possible to get a BSOD anymore as I haven't had one since making the switch to XP and up. I've uploaded the dump files. Can anyone take a look at them and tell me what the issue might be? Also, what can I use to view them? My computer is trying to open them by default with VS2010, but it gives an error saying "Error HRRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to COM component", or if I copy and try to open it from the desktop, it says "Debugging older format crashdumps is not supported". I'm sorry to hear about this.
I would recommend trying the following: 1. Re-seat your memory sticks inside the system. See if that fixes it. 2. If it does not, then try loading defaults in your BIOS to remove all overclocks. A overclock might become unstable and need fine-tuning. 3. If that does not work, try using Windows Restore to a point where you were not having this issue. Or, you can also try a fresh install of Windows. |

According to your dump files it the cpu, I think your oc settings needs adjusting, for 124 normally its vtt or vcore, but do what Alex sid first, but don't do step 3 yet.

Thanks for the response guys.
It just started happened twice so far, once 2 days ago, and another time yesterday. So far today I haven't had a BSOD. Would it be due to ambient temperature? I live in TX and it has gotten significantly hotter here in the past week. I ran RealTemp when I first got my computer and it was around 40C when under low/normal usage, but would get to around 50C under heavier load. When I did something intense like rendering videos in Sony Vegas and the CPU was getting stressed to about 90%+, it would spike as high as 70C. But for the past few days, my temps have been 45C under low usage, and around 55-60C under heavier loads. |

Only heavy load temps are the ones that matter and if they don't go above 85c, there is no problem temp-wise.
