I'm on a pretty tight budget but I desperately need to upgrade from this 3 year old "gaming" laptop. Ideally, I would like to spend about 1200 with shipping, but unless I want to order from sketchier rig companies, I've found it may not be possible to get what I want without spending a little bit more.

This is the rig I put together: http://www.digitalstormonline.com/comploadsaved.asp?id=438150

I'll be gaming on a 24" Asus with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080. I don't play very many taxing games sys requirement wise and I'm not a max settings type of person, but I'd like to utilize the native resolution as much as possible. My favorites include SC2, HoN, FO3 and I want to be prepared for D3.

Aside from the typical review of the rig, would you guys mind recommending any areas where I could possible downgrade a tad to save a little more? I've thought about going with the Core i3 530 and swapping from the GTX 480 to the Radeon 5770 or even the 5750. Those changes would put me right around 1200 with shipping, but if the performance drop isn't worth the price savings, I'd like somebody to evaluate that for me (money is tight!).

Thank you in advance!
Nema

yea, i cant suggest going under the lowest price build in the guide :(
a computer is an investment for several years, no reason to skim on that last 100-200 when all it will do is hurt you and waste money
