I already bought a decent sytem from DSO.
I want to buy a computer for my brother, I really do not have a lot of money to spend on it though.
I just want it to play COD4 mainly, that will be the benchmark. Do you guys have any suggestions on how I can make it cheaper, or upgrades that are worthwhile?
$1500 limit, I can go over though

I am looking to do the same thing. I would cut out the keyboard if he already has a comp just use the keyboard from the old one that will save a few dollar. I would upgrade the case to the pro i think it is only 15 bucks and will give you a little more room and air flow. Also a few people pointed out it would be better to have them put in the ATI hd3850 it is the same price but runs alot better there was something on toms hardware about it as well.
My question i cam to the forums to as was what is the real diffrence between the 800 mhz xms2 and the dominator beside 40 bucks? Edited by Getout - 26 Dec 2007 at 7:31pm |

The HD3850 performs better than a 8600 GTS and both are $179. But it does not perform better than a 8800GT 512 which is $279.
The dominator has tighter timings and a better heatsink. |

Also there wouldn't be any harm in throwing down 8 more dollars for 70 more gigs of space on the HDD. |
