I am looking to spend 2k on a new PC for my little brother. I have no idea what most of this means but pieced things together as best as I could based on other posts.

Budget is as close to 2k as possible. Monitor is present and there is a second on the floor, could this use both? Both are HD wide screen monitors. Look about 22".

I would like the PC to play all games at max setting for at least a few years. Tired of hearing things not loading right.

99% used for gaming. Playing the New Star Wars game right now.

The build number is 637725. I can't get this to post with a link in it.

Thanks for any advice!

If your buying the computer for someone else dont worry about configuring a computer just right for them it will only give you headaches.

Go with one of the prebuilt ODE systems.  while you can customize a better or more specialized system manually.  its much hard to build, maintain and educate family members/friends to make the most out of it.

But if you look at the ODE systems by digital storm you get a VERY good systems for cheaper than you can configure yourself.

The ODElvl1 should fit your need,  if using multiple monitors the ODE lvl 3 might be fine.

Either way you wil not find a better Prebuilt system anyware for both quality of parts, price, and customer support..

LOL all I do here is config systems for others, no headache.

while you can customize a better or more specialized system manually. its much hard to build, maintain and educate family members/friends to make the most out of it.

with all due respect I find that statement to be 100% false.

@Mical, if I understand correctly you have 2 monitors both have res of 1920 x 1080, for sw if you check our gaming section of the forum you will see only one gpu is needed, I believe you can game on both monitors, you need to set the nvidia control panel.

Now you said "all games", games like bf3 at your res on one monitor will need sli 570 to max things out, sli 570 will cost you over your budget.

your build is not giving you the most for your money right now, you have waste in there.

first lets decide if you want a single system gpu or dual gpu system.

Thanks for all the help so far.

Currently only one monitor is running. I think he would prefer the two but I am only worried about the one for now. Based on that, and based on the research I just did on what a GPU even is, I think a one GPU system would be fine.

For that, check out ode one.

custom config will cost $2,016

Ticket Number: 637909

or we can build you a system that has one gpu but can support 2, you add the second one down the road if you need it:

$2,119

Ticket Number: 637910

Idea is that you add ssd to either of these builds and for the second one you add a gpu also.

upgrade hdd when hdd prices comeback down to normal.
