Hey guys, I've been contacting Sarah for about a month now solidifying my build, and although shes been absolutely fantastic I want some more opinions before I make it my final build.
My budget is ~3000 dollars and although I have not included one I'm also hoping to keep the computer price low enough to afford a 1080p capable LCD monitor. As for my buzzword, it's UPGRADABILITY. I want my machine to be as upgradable as possible for the future, and in fact it's the entire reason I am being allowed to purchase this machine in the first place when we get the money(graduation present, basically). I play a variety of games, but I don't own any games that are incredibly graphic demanding. That said, I've never gone out of my way to buy games that I couldn't play on my now 5 1/2 year old rig that is in the process of dying. Basically, one of the two RAM sticks is dead, and the GPU and Mobo are failing as well. So, here are the specs I have so far, I hope with all of this information you can help me decide what will be the best parts to make this computer the best I can get in terms of upgradability and price:performance ratio's. Oh and also, the 5 year warranty was my parents idea, they're more than just a little paranoid about who they purchase technology from and I also want to insure I have the money to replace anything, and since I'll have been in and out of college by the time the Warranty is up, I think it's a good thing. Along with the mouse and keyboard that I do actually need since my laser mouse always sticks and my keyboard is missing a few keys due severe rage in my youngers days. 5 year warranty sounds great, if you want to save another $45 then go with evga LE. I went with a 5 year warranty also, I think its a great idea.
