Hi guys...I do flightsims/racecars and the yearly tax returns. I want a rig that's fast, cool, and quiet. Here's the build http://www.digitalstormonline.com/comploadsaved.asp?id=86378
These optical drives are SATA right? Big%20smile

Price range?

Normal Resolution?

Future SLI?

Your config is pretty good for what you're looking for, but a few adjustments could make it cheaper for you or get you a better GPU for around the same price.

And I do believe they're Sata.
Pro case with extra fan
Quad Q6600 2.4 OC'd 3.1!
Nvidia 8800GT
Asus Maximus Formula Mobo
2xgb 800mhz corsair

The lightscribe opticals are definately SATA. I know DSO said they would be moving towards all SATA optical drives, but it would be best to ask if they have done so when you call.

That's *really* close to where I  started my build Big%20smile.

I am going to suggest that the 640 MB version of the 8800GTS is worth the extra $106. A couple of weeks ago, I would have said "perfect". Now I'm seeing reviews stating that 320GB may not be enough VRAM to run DX10 games at higher settings. If running everything cranked to max is no big deal for you, the 8800GTS 320MB GPU is still an awesome card, but longevity wise, that extra ~$100 is going to add alot of value to your purchase IMO.

Your rig look fast, cool, and quiet...Right now, these optical drives are all SATA, except DVD Rom.

Thanks Sundowner, I'm looking to stay around this price point, no SLI, and yeah I think I'll move up to the 640mb 8800GTS. Maybe 22" monitor in the near future also.
Don't see how to go cheaper tho!
Wish DS offered the Antec 900 case, I dig it.
That's my story and I'm stickin to it.
