I want to move my folding off my CPU and on to GPUs. FAH uses little CPU, memory and disk. All the computation is done on the GPU with very little data transfer. My thought is to start with a single GPU and add a second (non-SLI) later. The box will be running 24x7.

Looking at the SLADE 2 with:

Intel Core i5-8400 (6-Core) 2.80GHz
ASUS PRIME Z370-P
8GB DDR4 3000MHz
750W EVGA SuperNOVA
GeForce GTX 1080 8GB
GeForce GTX 1080 8GB (add later)

1) The mother board states that it can not do SLI but can it accommodate two 1080s? Should I just look at another MB?
2) Any other suggestions since it will be running 24x7?

Thanks.
Jim

I used to fold on 4 gpus on this system

Its been a while but you don't need sli Visit fah forums and find out if 8x lanes is good or if 16x is needed, that will help you with which mobo we need.

Bottom line for a fah farm 0f 3 or 4 gpus, you gonna shell out a good amount, the gpus themselves will cost a grand each,.

Then there is the cooling and pressure of 24/7 folding, in short get ready to replace bunch of stuff.
