I like the build. I will add this config with a slight change for the better hard drive, and you are at only 2099 for the build which will fit your budget nicely!

do you feel i need to upgrade the factory chassis fans to the high performance ones? Whats the difference between the stage 1 Air and stage 2 air? |

the fans couldn't hurt, but they will certainly add a bit more noise to your system! the difference from the stage 1 air to stage 2 air from what I can see is the size of the fans
stage 1 120mm
stage 2 140mm
the extra fans upgrade will still be within your budget,so go ahead and get them
very nice system by the way! Edited by rodsmith - 04 Jul 2010 at 6:57pm |

that is nice build but if you want to be able to go sli in the future then you need a better and bigger psu, stay away from upgrade fans, pointless and loud.

My pleasure and congrats
You will love it, this system can do dual sli 480 if you needed it to, and it can grow as big as you want it to also, first thing I would upgrade is a ssd, wait till intel's new line comes out Q4 of this year and then jump into one if you can. remember ultimately this is what you want: HDD1 = fast small drive: os/apps/games HDD2 = regular large drive: media/personal/work file storage Don't fill up your HDD1 more then 50%, if think you will need more room for it then pick a bigger one. so in your case, you get the new ssd, you then clone the 1TB hdd to the ssd using my clone guide: you can follow my clone guide here then you format the 1TB HDD and push it to HDD2 and the ssd will be HDD1, from this point, move all your personal/media/work files to HDD2 for storage and just keep os/apps/games on the ssd. |

Thanks again |

ya this system and ones like this one, can grow as big as you wanted them to, you can even throw a 6 core cpu in there down the road.
