Budget:
~6k Expectations: Porformance/Stability Usage: Game/VR/General Use Saved Ticket #: 2735423 I think I am mostly straight about the configuration here. My question comes about the Motherboard. I usually go with ASUS but with the latest questions about how they do things such as VRM I am looking around at other options. Are either of these better choices? One is less, one is much more. e.g is there a reason to go with CARBON instead of ASUS or is there a reason for performance to go with the GODLIKE. MSI MPG Z390 GAMING PRO CARBON AC (Wi-Fi) (Intel Z390 Chipset) (Up to 3x PCI-E Devices) [+$99] ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero (Wi-Fi) (Intel Z390 Chipset) (Up to 3x PCI-E Devices) [+$191] MSI MEG Z390 GODLIKE (Wi-Fi) (Intel Z390 Chipset) (Up to 4x PCI-E Devices) [+$500] Any other thoughts about the build? I think you have an excellent build as is with the Asus ROG Maximus Hero board. Excellent power handling VRM /heatsink and you also get a Q Code reader on board for quicker error handling... also an appropriate top level board for Overclocking and the high end components you are using. I don’t see a need here for the MSI Godlikes extra expense at all, and the MSI Pro Carbon would be more a mid level board.

A couple words about the 860 PRO. Sure it's worth it? No speed gain at all, but it is rated for double the rewrites if that's an issue for you. Seems 2400TB could be enough in 5 years? The other thing is that it's a little pricey here. Just sayin'. |
