I've taken the liberty of removing some of the "no thanks" categories to shorten the post. Thankfully I stumbled upon your website after reading the disgruntled XPS 730x nightmare problem forums... I was about to pull the trigger on that purchase.
A few questions: 1. What is the main difference, besides price in the stage 1,2,3 cooling and is stage 3 cooling located within the case or does it have something hanging off the back of the computer? 2. although I didn't spec a velociraptor 300Gb I may still - is this the HLFS model? 3. on the corsair 1000W HX do you send all the additional connectors that normally come with the retail version? 4. on the upgraded chassis fans are the led versions zalman? if not what brand are they? I really like the zalman build quality. 5. what is the usual OC on the 920 with stage 3 cooling (stage 1,2 also) 6 with the paint screw and hose clips upgrade how many screws and clips does that come with Ticket Number: 242496 Total Price with Instant Savings: $2,780.00 Copy of Specifications: Chassis Model: Digital Storm 950Si Processor: Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz (Quad Core) Motherboard: EVGA X58 3X SLI (Intel X58 Chipset) (Supports Triple SLI or CrossFire) System Memory: 6GB DDR3 1333MHz Corsair Dominator DHX (High-Performance) Power Supply: 1000W Corsair HX (Dual/Triple/Quad SLI Compatible) Video Card: 1x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285 1GB (Includes PhysX Technology) Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio Extreme Cooling: H20: Stage 3: High-Performance Liquid Chilled FrostBite System For CPU Liquid Color:UV Blue: Medium Glowing Non-conductive Fluid (Requires H20: Stage 3 & UV Lighting) Chassis Airflow: Upgrade Chassis With LED Performance Fans (Blue) Internal Lighting: Internal Chassis Lighting System (UV) (Creates Glowing Effect For H20: Stage 3 UV Fluid) Enhancements: LCD Temperature Display & Fan Controller (Requires Chassis Airflow Upgrade) Boost Processor: Yes, Overclock the processor as much as possible with complete stability Restore Kit: Digital Storm Specialized Recovery System (DVD Image Based) Warranty: 3 Year Platinum Care Extended Parts & Labor Warranty |

1: Stage 3 cooling is DS's custom blend of high end lc components to provide you with the best cooling possible. As for the other forms of LC, dont bother. You either go stage 3 or go with a V8 air cooler. 2. Not sure what model they use, (didn't know there was two) Best bet would be calling them/emailing.
3. Call them
4. The led fans I got were thermaltake (blue) Not sure if the colors dictate the brand (call them)
5. Its pretty hard to pin point an exact figure because all the chips are different.. Some batchs oc well and others not as well. Ive seen 3.2 - 4.0 with stage 3 and almost the same can be said about the V8 cooler.
6. They most likely use just enough to get the job done (call em) Edited by Dsnewb210 - 05 Feb 2009 at 8:27pm |

2. hlfs is the backplane one, you want the sata one, which is glfs.
3. these parts not retail, but what ever they come with you will get, from the feedback, there are some extra data/power cables you get. if you want something request it, if they can, they will throw it in free. 4. I believe they are zalman led fans, but I'm not sure. 5. DS does not guarantee any OC speeds but you can expect from 3.5 to 3.8, liquid cooling will give you the best shot of getting the highest OC. 6. its the clamps for the LC I think and screws for the expansion slots now what resolution are you going to be gaming at? 2. thanks for the input.. I didn't realize that HLFS was backplane, everyone I talk to says get the HLFS. but i've been hanging out on the blackbird forums and that would stand to reason with the 002 backplane.
3. i just don't want to run out of powercables since this powersupply is modular and i plan on adding dvd on my own 4. cool that isn't a deal breaker I was just curious 5. didn't expect guarantees, just a rough estimate 6. just dont' want to pay for that upgrade and have 2 screws painted and 4 stainless. BTW are those anodized or just high gloss paint back to question 1. is this LC unit contained within the case or mounted outside? currently playing at 1600x1200 on my 20"lcd but looking to upgrade. I play a mix of RTS,FPS, and my main is WOW. I have been rolling my own boxes for about 10 years and just don't have the time to build anymore. ![]() |

Depends on what you order, If you get a 950si case and lc the cpu/gpus then it will require a rad to be place on the outside.
Other then that the rad will be inside the case.

yes voodoo... a late comer at that. i go by the same name and haven't posted much mainly monitoring. they seem pretty adamant about pushing their new agenda... ie firebird. which i can't get behind. i seem to think they killed the 002 prematurely but i think that case is a work of art. the firebird case looks anemic to me.

not sure how they can test your OC without windows or a HDD.
being a high end integrator i figured DS had plenty of spare drives laying around with windows (tm) images, the OC shouldn't be tied to a specific hard drive and a particular install of windows. Perhaps I will call tomorrow to confirm. Edited by bane4u - 06 Feb 2009 at 12:54am |

I think I might have seen you there a couple of times. I like the BB but as you I do not like the MB, except for their OMEN I do not think they are gaming oriented anymore, but then again I think they are trying to become a lifestyle brand like Apple. Well I really like the guys there so I do have a soft corner for them.

If you have ever ordered from Voodoo you can expect the same level of service if not more from DS from what I have seen while I was here. I went with them purely for their customer service really

I agree with Samael!!!!
I have spent months reading the forums of different companies and Digital Storm is the only way to go.
Customer Service is incredible here!!!
The customer base is like an extended family but are like fanatics to help each other put together a dream machine and to keep it optimized.
Can't go wrong with Digital Storm. Take the time to read a few of the postings. It will be very obvious quickly!!!!
