Hello,
Look for a new system, open to all recommendations.
Budget is 1600 +/- 500. Keeping the price down is a plus, but I need total reliability. Already have 3 27" monitors 1920x 1200, keyboard and mouse.
90% of use will be day trading, so multiple open web pages for research, and stock tracking. Maybe some FPS on weekends.  I need  the ability to add 3 more monitors or 2 42 LCD tvs at a later time, so I was thinking about using the Eyefinity 6 card, as well as a TV tuner.
Part of the reason I want to keep the price down is because I will also be needing a laptop around the same price range.  My main question for a laptop is can a video card like the GTX 460M run multiple monitors? I would like the ability to run three 27" monitors (24" if that's all it could handle).  Or would I need to use something like the Matrox triple head to go?
Thanks for any help.

well one would need one card, 3 would need 3, big difference in price and parts and even possibly platform, I like to go with SB cause its more powerful but for 3 cards we need to head over to the x58 platform that is not as powerful, unless you want to wait till q4 of this year when the highend SB platform comes out.

The main focus would be for day trading, using multiple monitors.  That's why I was looking at the Eyefinity 6 card (capability of running six monitors), if I'm understanding correctly.?

this one can do crossfire and leave pci lanes open for other cards, I'm not that familiar with Eyefinity too much but I know this card is suppose to be able to run 5 monitors, I'm not sure if it can do six and if so how.

A quote from AMD's site about Eyefinity.

"AMD Eyefinity technology can support up to 6 displays using a single enabled AMD Radeon™ graphics card with Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating systems – the number of displays may vary by board design and you should confirm exact specifications with the applicable manufacturer before purchase."

Like I said I know its suppose to do six but with 5 ports I'm a bit lost as to where the 6th monitor uses for port connection.
