www.newegg.com is a great place to buy components. Not only really good prices, but very reasonable shipping and a great return policy.
One piece of advice I can offer is don't skimp on the case - I estimate I cut short the life of my home-built system by 3 years by having a case that was too small to provide excellent airflow and cooling.

There are a few forums exclusively for build it yourself folks.
Just Google. I thought about the same thing at one time but checking into it the cost savings was not worth it.
DS is a much better choice, plus warranty and life support.
Found these guys and never thought about building again.

If you mean companies like Digital Storm or Alienware, they buy in quantities of 1000+ from the manufacturers themselves.
If you mean people who build their own systems, everyone who lives in the US buys from www.newegg.com or www.tigerdirect.com. |

Don't quite understand what you are trying to say...
If you want a computer built by Digital Storm with parts not offered on the customization page, you would have to call them. www.newegg.com is one of the largest and best online retail store there is. Their prices and shipping rates are unmatched by anywhere else.. Edited by skyR - 28 Oct 2007 at 12:34am |
