Hey,
I bought a computer from DS quite a few ago and while it has done wonderfully I am feeling the need to upgrade. I am honestly a complete neophyte when it comes to the inner workings of a computer and I would like some advice on what seems to be appropriate for my needs.

My Budget is ~$2500

My expectations is that I will be able to run current and upcoming games fairly close, if not flawlessly.  I generally am playing MMO's but would like to have a system that could handle something more intense should the need arise. I don't plan on having more then one monitor and I will be running it 1920 X 1080.

The primary usage of the computer will be for running games well.  Besides that it will serve for basic needs, internet ect.

I have no special needs that I can think of.

Thank you
-Billy

*Edited for clarification

Thank you very much for the help.

I just want to be sure I understand what sli is. This would basically give me the capability of adding another video card should the time come that just the one isn't cutting it correct?

That is correct. To be honest a single 570 should be good for MMO's for quite a while.

If its just for mmo you don't need sli as they won't take advantage of it.

That's not necessarily true. Rift most certainly does support sli and crossfire and will give big gains. I'm fairly certain most of the long list of new MMO's coming out this year will also support multi gpu configs. Just something for the OP to think about.

all MMO's support multi GPU's, it is hardware not software anyways, old ass games don't need multi GPU's, so easy to run, but yes, new ones. lol
RIFT uses 3 GPU's very well, great scaling 90%+ most all the time, when you crank up the settings, it is very taxing on a system, now 4 GPU's seems to fail, but my wife has done all the driver/GPU settings, so maybe I could get better scaling out of it, but in the past I know a lot of games did not scale well with 4 GPU's.

hmmm, glad Rift was mentioned as it is one of the games I am currently playing and at the moment probably the most taxing (system wise) for me to run.

Thanks for the continued input.
