yup, its the AMD kid, i have been stalking the forms recently, and was randomly looking at stocks and saw that amds fell. found dozer released and i did not ever hear about it.
well, its out, but its like the phenom 1/pentium4's....its more on the side of instructions/bios from what i understand (the P4's failed becaue it was design of the chip itself) it can be fixed.
however...it is DAMN close to a 8 thread 965 with about where i thought it would be.
and the chip is only 250 bucks, add that ontop of mobos and you have a system just as good as a 965 at the same or slightly less cost.
i dont think you can call it fail....it did improve on the phenom 2.
but it is not as big as i (and you intel people) hoped....would have lowered prices!
anyway, going hunting tommrow with a 1935 m91/30! see you in 4 days!
let the flaming and intel BS start!!!
EDIT_________________________________
it seems winblows 7 tells process witch thread to run at...and on an i7 it uses a real core before it uses a HT core (this is better as a HT core is not as strong) but on dozer, it does a module at one time, then moves to the next! so if they fix this, preformance would jump by 10 to 15 precent, making dozer a challanger! Haha as you may have noticed on the dozer post you have not been forgotten :P
and im glad you have come to like valid reasons lol. Yes dozer isn't as good as we expected but it is slightly because windows doesn't efficiently support it, giving it a slight disadvantage. That said its priced very competitively even if it isn't enough to beat the 2500k its not priced for that. And also I think its a good concept. The problem is that more apps are supporting multithreading so dozer is quickly losing the advantage of splitting threads in two. Edited by maxyme - 21 Oct 2011 at 12:16am |
