Just thinking, this might be placed better in another section so everyone can see it.
Had a problem with my rig. Got a call back within 24 hours. Called Stephen back. His service was excellent. Diagnosed me immediately. Logged in to my computer, started going to town. Updated all the hardware, software, walked me through the fix which was a simple CMOS battery replacement. Of course, not simple. Had to remove the video card. He was very patient as I fumbled through his directions with my big fingers and the teeny, tiny screws and teenier screw holes. It was brutal getting those in and out. So I put the new battery in. Booted up, same problem. He was sure it was the battery. So took it out again to find that, genius that I am, I didn't see the clear piece of tape on the back of the battery. So anyway problem fixed. He then cleaned up everything he had done on the drivers and such and then created me an updated Windows boot disc on a flash drive. Freakin awesome. Never buy another computer anywhere else. |

Excellent to hear and thanks for sharing. So many buyers give very little thought to after purchase service to save a few bucks. This is where DS shines and why some of us have been here for years.

Congratulations on getting your system back on track. Every time we do something new we are learning.
It sounds like a broken record, but like bprat22 stated, it is when things go awry that DS shines. Excellent product and stellar service. Not to forget, an unbelievable group of very knowledgeable and giving forum members. Edited by hoserator - 14 Dec 2017 at 5:38am |

Also, have no fear, you are not the first, nor the last person to forget about those dastardly little clear strips. |

So I'm noticing now that my OC only goes to 4224 under load. It was always 4300. I realize that is awfully negligible, but it is different.
Pretty sure there is no clear strip of tape on the back of my overclock. |

Did you change any BIOS values while going through your repair process?
If not you might try reloading your BIOS profile. It's possible that the period of no CMOS battery caused some very minor wonkiness with the saved settings. |

Not really sure what all he did, he did so quickly it was hard to follow. I know he updated firmware for hard drive, updated motherboard drivers and pretty much drivers for everything in the rig. Don't know if he changed any BIOS stuff. I didn't see him do anything specifically related to the OC.
The two error messages I was getting were OC setting cannot be loaded, and CPU fan speed error. I no longer get those errors but the OC is not quite what it was. Edited by Doc - 15 Dec 2017 at 6:59am |

My guess is the original oc setting was lost with battery change, that's why you had the error on loading oc setting, and DS redid the oc and it came out a bit lower.
